US Made Wool Watch Cap - All-Weather Protection and Classic Style Beanie

Just as described on page. No evidence of any synthethic wool or blending found. The thread used to sew the top might be cotton or some other textile, but there isn't a sufficient quantity to test wwithout destroying the cap. Fits as it shoulf - nice stretch, can be rolled to set peak height as desired, pulled low over ears and neck to collar level. Like nearly all wool, the texture requires a bit of time to wear in and soften up for total comfort. Things to know - wool requires hand washing only and drying and shaping best done by laying out on a terry cloth towel folded over the cap and pressed as dry as possible by hand. Hot water and electric dryer will shrink and likely ruin your cap. However, if you feel it is too large go ahead and do the hot water and run a hot dry cycle with nothing but the cap in the dryer, and you will probably shrink to a size that will fit! Likewise, if too small wash in cool water, press dry as above, and stretch outward from bottom to top as much as you can, place another towel and some weight to hold shape while drying. Afew rounds of the process with wearing between should soon give you a perfect fit which will be retained. Best fact about this cap is it is warm beyond any other material made, yet still allows moisture (sweat) to evaporate without problems of overheating. Even in wet conditions wool retains the warmth to keep you safe and comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A little itchy on my bald head, not soft like Merino but it wears in and softens after a week or two. Very warm, breathes and I’m not wrapping my head in plastic. Wool is much better. Farmer Approved.

This is one of the best winter hats I have used. I’m a big believer in the properties of wool, and this is a good one. I have worn this working in sub 20 degree Fahrenheit temps while operating a bucket lift at 40ft in the air on windy days and my head stays warm, which helps keep the rest of my body warm. It also keeps my head at a more comfortable temp in a greater range of temperatures and helps my body regulate temp better.

I bought this originally when I thought I lost my black watch cap but later found it laying in the dock where I worked. Since I bought this one in navy blue I kept it. The material is wool and keeps my head warm in winter months. I have a bald head so I needed this.

Love it. Just like the ones my dad wore when I was a kid. Quality made. Warm. Soft. Fits great.

I love this cap. Very warm and understated in terms of style. Did I also mention the value? I did find the cap a little itchy. I read up on why this is and how to alleviate it and that took care of the problem. Obviously wool can be itchy, so the fibers need to be softened. I also found that some wool can be treated with an agent in processing which can cause the itch. Not sure which was the issue here, but the solution to resolve works for each potential causes. I used Outback Gold Wool Wash to launder the cap (adds lanolin which softens the fibers). Just follow the instructions regarding water to solution ratio and find a reputable website on laundering wool caps. I hand washed, soaked for 30 mins, lightly squeezed and rinsed (squeeze don't wring!). Also rolled in a towel and pressed out excess water. Air dried for 24 hours. I've done this twice since I purchased this cap and it's gotten softer over time. Also, snaps back after the wash.

Itchy and unusable. It’s a nice looking cap for the price, fits well too, but now I see why everyone recommends Merino wool, this type of wool is extremely itchy on the skin. Had to return.

I have had other watch caps made synthetic fibers, but they never kept me has warm as a 100% wool watch cap. I was so happy to be able to order one again! It out me in my happy place!! I try to get all natural fabrics when I can. Now, I will be toasty warm this winter. Thanks! Jackie
