I can't even contain myself right now from all the feels, mostly excitement cause that Slade... OMFG to the max. Damn that man is hot! And if you can't get enough of his body, wait until he opens his mouth, he'll have you begging for it and get you there without even touching you. He's that good! He is the ultimate playboy, in the best way. Idk how I could even make sense now, I'm a little flustered. I finished it last night and today I'm still freaking out. This man is sex-on-a-stick and so delicious you want to lick him up... everywhere. And that's just his body, the things he can do with the English language is beyond erotic, beyond anything I could even explain. The man is unbelievably hot! Victoria Ashley just got on my automatic reading list, if the woman publishes a book I'm reading it, no questions asked. This book is the sexiest, most erotic book I've read. Okay, onto the story. Slade is an erotic dancer at a club where he meets Aspen. He's teasing her because he wants in her pants, then he finds out that she is the new temporary roommate, even more of a challenge for him. He has to have her, but he has rules; you only get to ride the Slade train once and if you agree, you are in for the best night of your life, guaranteed. Oh he'll show you a good time alright, for a price, it's only once and What. A. Shame. Cause after being with Slade you're ruined for every other guy, and that's exactly how he likes it; being every woman's fantasy. Aspen is staying with her friend Cale for a week, she needs to get away from her life and take a breather. When she comes to Cale's place of work which is a club/male strip club she sees Slade paying extra attention to her. It makes her uncomfortable, she's disgusted with him dancing half naked with women drooling over him. She tried do hard to keep her legs closed but Slade is too good at getting women to bed him, he knows their weaknesses and can talk so dirty it turns you on. But he's a male slut and she's not interested in being one of his conquests. But when she can't fight him or her treacherous body any longer, she gives in and she hates it. He seems to know what she needs and he wants to give it to her, but when his jealousy gets in the way, he finds that he might want to break his rules for her and be with her again. My favorite parts are when Aspen tries to fight against her lust for for Slade. He wants her and will stop at nothing to get her. He teases her so much with words and with actions. He gave her a striptease in front of the whole club that was unmistakably the hottest thing I've ever read. His view was that she needed to see hoe excited she made him feel, but it only embarrassed her to no end. Slade likes that she won't give in, he likes a challenge, he's convinced that he's going to get her and can't wait. He's the talk of the town, he's been with many women and they don't skimp on the details of how good he is. When these two find out each others secrets, it is a ground breaking explosion. It is an earth shattering experience for both of them to learn their secrets. Their stories are heartbreaking and difficult, Slade's more so but Aspen's story is also sad. They have a lot to work through as they learn their feelings for each other and as they develop. Their relationship(if you can call it that) was rough, impulsive, explosive, and very satisfying. As we learn their secrets we see them as differently as they see each other, their vulnerable sides are exposed and so are their hearts. But with their heart on their sleeves, someone is bound to get hurt, but who would it be? And can they go back to living their lives as if they didn't know each other or will their lives never be the same? The other characters were really great as well, no annoying best friends in this book. Cale was Slade's roommate and Aspen's sister's best friend from childhood. Cale was really nice to Aspen in letting her stay with him for a week to get her head straight. He was an equally good friend to Slade, they worked together and lived together and he was there when Slade needed someone. Cale was supportive and protective of his friends, not mention hot. So is Hemy, who is also a sex machine, haha. Aspen has the hots for Hemy as well but Slade won't have that, he wants her all to himself even before he was with her. I'm so glad that Hemy and Cale are getting their own books, I can't wait to read them. There's a sneak peak at Hemy's story and it sounds so good. I could not get enough of this book! The feels were overwhelming and my pulse was on overdrive. What an exciting read, I didn't want it to end, this did not feel like a novella at all. So much happened, yet it leaves you wanting more, much more. I haven't read anything like it, simply spectacular!

I knew that fact going into this read, and I still wanted to devour it. It was nice to step away from the romantic and sweet for a while. I wanted to be consumed by the foul-mouth, arrogant, sinful Slade Merrick. ❝Tomorrow you can go back to hating me from a distance. Tonight, you can hate me from my ****ing bed.❞ Slade might not show it, but he has something dark lingering inside him. Something that is consuming him from the inside out. He ****s anything and everything that walks to numb the pain. He hides behind his dirty mouth, and his arrogance to keep everyone at a distance. No attachments, no kisses, no lovey dovey ***t! You're in and then you are out, for good. What he doesn't know, is that one woman is about to shatter his ONE NIGHT ONLY rule to pieces. Not only will she penetrate his walls, but she will be the one to bring him back to the light, make him see that he is MORE than what he thinks he is. ❝I thought I could be enough for once.❞ Aspen leaves home to visit her friend, who works at the same club as Slade. Minding her own business, trying to keep her mind off of things, she is approached by the GOD that is Slade Merrick, and so the HATE/LUST relationship begins. What Slade doesn't know is that Aspen is hiding from her own demons. She has never been treated like she was worthy, and so she has begun to believe that. Trying to avoid this gorgeous, tattooed man is becoming more and more difficult. There is something about him that gets under her skin. She can't decide if she wants to hug him or kick his a**. Soon the overwhelming lust wins, and so begins the train wreck that is Slade and Aspen sexual escapades. ❝You've ****ing ruined me.❞ With the exception of the need for better editing, I absolutely thought SLADE was a great start to what is sure to become an extremely hot, gritty, and raw series. I didn't think this would be such an emotional read for me, but when Slade's dark past is revealed, I couldn't get to the tissues fast enough. It's heartbreaking and enlightening. You begin to understand why this man is the way he is. I love the LOVE/HATE relationship between Aspen and Slade. The interaction between the two was HOT yet comical. If you are looking for a fast, scorching read, SLADE is for you. You might HATE Slade at the beginning, but trust me when I say, when all is revealed, you will be able to look past the man-*****, past the dirty mouth, and actually see the beautiful, damaged man inside.

2.5/5⭐️ 2.5/5🌶️ Based in the blurb wasn't expecting a lot, just a fun, steamy read. The MMC was as depicted and the story does a decent job of revealing why he is the way he is. But then there is Aspen. She "hates" Slade from the moment she meets him but no explanation ever as to why, just a device only there so the book can be labelled as "enemies to lovers" trope. Her reactions to the MMC and behavior for almost the entire book were annoying but not unbearable. And then the last chapter happens where you learn why she is in Chicago, making her doormat character completely unlikeable. I also still don't understand how this bar/strip club actually works either😀 Evidently the guys choose if and when they want to come in to work and also just "strip" at random when the feeling strikes them? I found this part rather funny because the author completely created this workplace out of thin air without any concept or thought put into making it somewhat realistic.

really strong language. tons of hot sex....and a bad guy which has a good reason to be THAT broken and twisted. just 1 girl can save him. it ist really good written and i really hoped for both of the people. i will download part 2 and 3 right now and read the night away.

Una historia muy bonita, adictiva, muy caliente y eso sí, no apta para según qué sensibilidades. El contenido sexual y el vocabulario son muy explícitos, pero vamos, es algo evidente. No creo que nadie se lleve una sorpresa. Yo la recomiendo. De entrada, me ha dejado con ganas de leer el resto de la serie.

This book was great from beginning to end. The characters were full and interesting with twisting backgrounds that had forged their behaviour and way of thinking. The journey taken by the two main characters makes sense and is full of emotion, fun, laughter and tears. Yes, there are some steamy scenes. Most gals would give their eye teeth for a guy like Slade to cherish them! Can't wait for the next book!!!!

O livro é bem escrito, tem muitas cenas de sexo e são bem escritas, mas a história inteira gira apenas em torno dos personagens principais. Não tem muita história, tem muito sexo e paixão. Dependendo do que o leitor procura, esse livro pode ser cinco estrelas ou apenas uma. De qq forma ele é pequeno e tem fim (a continuação da série será sobre outro personagem mencionado nesse livro) então eu aconselho.

This short novella really packs a sexy punch! I love Slade, Cale and Hemy and I want them all to dance for me please. For a short novella this book has a lovely story. Slade is a damaged and tortured man he uses sex to numb the past hurt, he cannot feel it’s just too painful for him, drink and meaningless sex are what gets him through the day, that is until Aspen walks into his life. Aspen isn’t like all the other women Slade is used too, she doesn’t fall at his feet she’s feisty. Slade shouldn’t want her, Aspen shouldn’t want him , but they have a pull towards each other. Slade and Aspen practically combust when together, they are sexy hot, melt into a puddle hot. When Slade reveals the reason why he acts the way he does my heart strings pulled so tight I wanted to hug him right along with Aspen, then when Aspens secret is revealed I wanted to slap he silly, I was thinking hasn’t he been hurt enough. I loved this story it was a wonderful bit of escapism, well written with great main characters and really good secondary characters that I cannot wait to read more from.
