I had never used a knock box before for making espressos, I had always just cleaned it out by hand over the trash. I find this one of the most useful tools in my kitchen for helping clean out the filter cups after brewing a cup of coffee. It makes the process quick, simple and I can press several shots of espresso in quick order. The knock box is extremely sturdy, able to handle quite hard hits, and has enough volume for an entire mormorning of fairly heavy espresso making. I have only had it for six weeks, but greatly appreciate the overall design and quality of construction. Initially I thought that it's plastic construction would not be sturdy enough, but I find that not to be the case. I also care considered the cost quite reasonable considered the quality of the product during the heavy use that I have made of it in the last 6 weeks.

Though it's plastic, it's sturdy plastic. The ability to beat on it with your tamper to get out the pucks of coffee can't be underestimated on this. The coffee puck goes straight down and because the bar is round, nothing sticks (and you can either rotate it, or shake the knock box). When it comes time to dump the grounds (I use a plastic bag) you can easily remove the center bar and simply "turn and dump" it for gardening. Low key, inexpensive, sturdy and does exactly what you need it to do - a perfect product! As an aside, if your puck is too watery, you may be running too fine. If it's too solid (hard to remove) then you're going the other way with too coarse. The happy medium is going to be a puck that comes out in one piece, little remaining in the portafilter. To help, I switch over to steaming and then back to dumping the puck after drawing my shot. Wait too long, and the heat from the espresso machine dries things out and then I'm scrubbing (and I'm scrubbing if I'm forgetting!)

Great. Buy it now. I can’t say more than that, but I should. This is durable. We both hand wash and dishwasher clean it. No issues. It is sturdy and looks elegant alongside my small espresso machine which cost me $800. This knock box is a must. It is round and has classic appearance. When we make our latte or espressos I don’t have to struggle to clean out the filter - just two quick taps then I rinse the filter and all is good. No struggles.

Ho acquistato questo knock box e dopo averlo utilizzato quotidianamente, posso affermare che è diventato un elemento essenziale nella mia routine del caffè. Il design compatto si integra perfettamente accanto alla mia macchina espresso, rendendo tutto più organizzato ed efficiente. La costruzione è solida e resistente, realizzata in plastica ABS resistente,. La barra centrale rivestita in gomma è un dettaglio molto apprezzato: attutisce il rumore quando si eliminano i fondi di caffè e protegge il portafiltro da eventuali danni. La verdad es que me ha soprendido positivamente. Elplástico es de buena calidad y el acabado mas que decente. La barra es solida y con goma reduciendo el impacto del portafiltros. Cuando la abrí me pareció mas pequeña de lo que esperaba lo que fue una grata sorpresa ya que no tengo una cocina enorme... pero me dió miedo que fuese demasiado pequeña. Tengo una cafetera Delonghi Dedica EC685 que lleva portafiltros de 51mm; bueno, no se puede goplear con el mango dejando el filtro libre de la barra (y si se puede será muy justo, por lo que el filtro golpeará la barra pero lo suficientemente adelantado para que la "pastilla" caiga completa. No se si pasará lo mismo con filtros mas grandes ya que en caso de uun 58mm igual golpeas con el centro del filtro en la barra... No lo sé, pero para un filtro de 51mm genial. Es bastante alto por lo que podría contener varios cafés; no sé cuantos puede contener ya que suelo vaciarlo nada mas preparar el café o, a lo sumo, cuando se enfría... y suelo preparar uno, como mucho dos cafés.

El material es de buena calidad. Plástico firme y goma en la base para que no resbale. Satisfecho con la compra.
