The module works well, it draws 0.3A @ 12v
The module works well, it draws 0.3A @ 12v, so it consumes 3.6W at that voltage. The light sensing photo resistor turns it on and off automatically. I need to use a camera to see if there is light output, which is normal. It might be of low power, I am not sure if other security cameras are sensitive enough to pick things up in such low illumination, I've ordered other modules at 4.5w x 2, another one at 36W to 53w, x1 other x2, for comparisons later.

Arrived broken (defective PCB design) - zero quality control :/
Item didn't turn on and I tried to find out why. The illuminator comes with a CDS photocell (light sensor) and a small Molex socket to probe the Light Dependant Resistor value. The value was always zero, independent of environmental light. Why? Because the pins of the Molex connector were shorted. I tried to fix the falty solder job, but it turns out the pins are connected on the PCB itself. (see photos) I had to remove the entire light sensor in order to make the illuminator work, but now it doesn't switch off during the day. Terrible quality, zero quality control. :(

It works exactly as described.
How about this for a project I was doing. It worked great. I wasn't using it as an illuminator. I used it as an ir signal emitter. That's about all I can say on the project but for the product it worked great.

Better than expected.
This worked very well. The only thing that was wrong is the wire harness that comes with it has the positive/negative wires reversed. Also worth mentioning i thought mine was defective even though I knew the wires were reversed because I was covering up the light sensor with my fiber to see if the power supply i had would be sufficient and it wasn't powering on because you can't use your finger to block the light from the sensor, you have to use something like tape. That being said I have a 1st gen nest cam that the Ir light doesn't work on anymore hence this purchase and this is WAY brighter than the stock led's with the added benefit of not being able to see the low red flow from 850nm leds.

Great bang for the buck
It helps if you're knowledgeable with PCBs and electronics. Good construction, PCB very clean, not sure if weatherproof coating but looked slick. No instructions but PCB labeled the power connector "+12V" and "GND" next to each pin on the connector supplied. If you want RED to be (+), you have to insert the correct end of the supplied cable because either end will fit, but only one end connects RED to the +12V pin, the other will reverse the wires. Thinking of buying more if I can figure out how to mount this one to my tracking camera.

Get what you pay for
It is cheap, but about 5 LED lights didn't work per board.

My Board Was OK
I purchased this to replace a burned-out module. I had to do some filing to make it fit my housing but managed. My camera outputs 12 VDC and is plug-compatible. Polarity was correct on my unit. The IR LEDs are indeed invisible to the naked eye. My smartphone detected the IR as a deep purple color. Output is sufficient for my application.
