Knocked it outta the park!
This book is in line with the quality and substance of the offerings from Fantasy Flight Games. The writing is excellent, the art superb and the usefulness wonderful. I burned right through this book and am using it soon in an Only War game I'm starting. Great product!

Really?
Ok, as a long-time Game Master I am obligated to feel non-biased to just about everything that has to do with my game but when I finally got to read this this I was thoroughly disappointed. I already knew that this was a Support class based supplement for the Tech-Priest (Tech), Ogryn (Og), Ratling (Rat), & Priest (P) but I could not help but feel let down at some the subject material.CREATION / ADVANCEMENT: There are 3 new pre-made regiments, one for the Tech-Priest, Ogryn, and Ratling respectively, and some new Create Your Own Regiment pieces which can border on the silly in my opinion. Then come the Support Specialist Advanced classes, in which the Tech, Og, Rat, & P get a few things to aspire to. Of all of them, the Priest got some of the better classes, all filled with fire, brimstone, fiery speeches, and bolters. The Tech-Priest likewise got some neat classes for the tech-savvy player and managed to get the combat efficient Crimson Exemplar as a class. But both the Ogryn and the Ratling got classes that I could come up with in my sleep and they are all kind of lackluster in my opinion (NOTE: I am vaguely against the sub-human classes and FFG due to the fact that both of them are kind o awful in my eyes).TALENTS / WEAPONS / VEHICLES: In the talents section, I am telling you right now, unless somebody has taken one of the above classes, they are mostly useless. (NOTE: anybody can now have a servitor, Ogryn, or Ratling as a comrade in this supplement.) The weapons likewise were a large disappointment with their lack of new additions. Most of it seemed geared towards the new tech-guard regiment and the rest were mostly to bolster the already small armory that the Og and Rat had. The Vehicles section was definitely the biggest surprise to me due to the fact that it was sizeable and had several great additions like the Tauros Recon vehicle, Salamander, Shadowhammer, and even the Sabre defense platform.Overall, not great but it is an addition and if your game group likes just a small extra splash of variety or simply happen to have a bunch of players that enjoy these particular Support classes, this is not a terrible buy.

Like most of the FFG 40K supplements
Like most of the FFG 40K supplements, it's pretty expensive for the small size - for the basic games you get 3x the content for +50% the price. But while Hammer of the Emperor is a few new regiments, some more advanced character specialties, some new rules (not many) and new equipment, this supplement adds a new feature: Adventure seeds for each new specialty. Some nice seeds, too; very helpful to GMs, not so much to players. And don't go hoping for anything on any fliers; there are new vehicles, including the Shadowsword, but not fliers. Guess we'll have to wait for a Navy supplement for that.
