Disc Cutter with 7 Punch 1/4" To 5/8" Jewelers Set

This is a great set of tools, it’s actually much nicer than the picture. Works perfectly, and is very sturdy, they will punch right through coins, and show no signs of wear from being hit.

I have to say, from a beginners point of view, I was a bit suprised and happy all tied up in a neat little package.... Yes, after reading the reviews of others, I was not sure what I was getting myself into, but these did receive the best so far. I work with metal, from 36 gauge to aprox. 14 gauge metal sheets in copper, brass, and tin. I got my package today and opened it up. I did not remove the oils that were on the tool since reading the comments prior, people had a hard time with the cutting discs being easily removed or going through the hole properly. I tried first with a 36 gauge sheet of brass, and no problems, slick as warm butter... Next I tried the 14 gauge tin, (that already had a pattern in it), and whola, another slick as well you know what!, Hmmm, you get the picture.... I think the machine oil also helped with this... so I am having hubby check his workshop for some machine oil, because I can clean machine oil off of pieces of metal, but I can not replace chipped disc cutters because I removed the oil. So now I must save my money to get the bigger version of this. Thank you for such a wonderful disc cutter, I really do enjoy it ad plan on getting many uses out of this.

New. Came in a little rusty. Smaller than I thought; but I can still use it.

I don't know where this is made, but it's pretty shoddy. People more interested in selling it than producing a quality product must have built it. First of all, the oil it comes packed in is a real pain in the ass! Have yourself some brake clean and a roll of paper towels handy when unpacking it. Second, the cylinders do become stuck in the bores often(with or without a small amount of quality lubricate applied) and need to be driven back through with a wood dowel. This item has done what it's supposed to do, but I don't like using it because it's just a hassle. A quality tool should make my job easier not harder. I rated it "okay" because it did get the job done, but with a lot of peripheral fiddling around with the tool itself.

I am not happy with this tool. It does not cut easily no matter how hard I pound. It cuts unevenly around the circle. It leaves ragged edges. I am disappointed in this purchase. I learned to use the disc cutter in a well-respected school of lapidary arts, so I know how it should work.

Save your money and get a tool that actually works; this one does not come apart, so it mangles your metal. Better products recommended by jewelry making teachers are out there and cost more, so better to wait and purchase one that will actually make a disc.

The punchers work good, but the whole plate is to small. If I want to punch a hole were the two metal parts are connected it does not fit. Looks smaller then it actually is so be aware of that. Should have read the measurements.
