Review: A great read! - A great book to easily teach toddlers/children about disabilities, without making it complicated. It was an easy read and the illustration was great. It kept my little ones engaged and she'd light on all children and people not being the same, but not being limited. It's also good to introduce it to children early on so they know how to respond when they see someone who has disabilities. It was a positive read and I gladly added it to the kid's bookshelf! I highly recommend! Review: Great beginner reader, affordable and important to add to every child's library #disabilityawareness - Great selection for toddlers, beginner readers or self-led readers. Disability awareness is key for our children. As a child I wasn't taught much at all about disabilities. Crude terminology was used, a lot of "don't stare" or "don't make fun of them" was tossed around, but I never had an understanding of what intellectual and physical disabilities meant, why were they in a separate classroom (this was many years ago, of course), why are we all scared to socialize, what is going on?? I work day in and out with children and adults with disabilities now and I wish I had read books like this treasure and had discussions, and LEARNED about disabilities and differences. I would have had such great friendships that I missed out on by being afraid to ask questions and not knowing about all of the ABILITIES each kid at my school had. I recommend you enrich your child's life by teaching them about their peers like Mimi. And, if your child has a disability I think it's a great read to prepare them for school settings where curious children may stumble over their words or ask inappropriate questions and how to guide them and be in control of the narrative.

Short story, good for beginner's starting to read. Not very informative as hoped.
Such a sweet little book. Really short, not quite what i was hoping for but overall it is an easy read for beginners; and slightly informative. My daughter has cerebral palsy, she use's a Walker and walking canes to walk with. I was hoping for a little more of this books message, so she could relate this story to her own, but at least it offers a positive outlook on acceptance from her classmates at her new school.

Great to see main characters with disabilities
In my preschool classroom we have disability accessories for the dolls to use. There's a wheelchair, a walker, cane, hearing aids, seeing eye dog, and crutches. To introduce these items to the children so they knew what they were for I purchased this book, read them and then used one of the dolls as a prop. The kids have been super careful. They respect and used the equipment properly. The children have asked questions about the different disabilities. As a classroom we have learned a bunch.
