At first I was kind of hesitant buying this, but after comparing prices to some other sets, this one just seemed to do the trick.... Loaded with features! Excellent phone system! Call quality is 4/5. It isn't perfect, but still very good. Of course, the closer to the base, the better the audio will be. Really, no complaints here, as the quality is more than sufficient. Each phone acts as a walkie-talkie (you can select a specific zone or all zones to initiate radio contact) Good for if you want to talk to someone in a the living room from bedroom, or if you're out in the backyard cooking. Just press the little button on the side of the phone, and select a zone, and talk away! Audible caller ID - hear who's calling you before you pick up the phone... *Caller ID from your phone service required Easily store names and numbers of your contacts. Also, easily speak to them. Each phone displays the number of voicemail messages. You can listen to your voicemail on ANY phone! It automatically switches to speaker when you do this. Just press Select 2x and it begins playing the voicemails. You can also manage the voicemails from any phone. Each phone as a speaker button, and the phones have a very good volume range, on both the earpiece and speaker. Also, each phone has a mute button, so you can prevent the other person on the line from hearing you talk. Multiple ringer options. Date and Time displayed in each handset. Also battery life indicator. The voicemail base lights up a red text showing you how many new voicemails. As I said, each handset also displays this number on the screen. The base offers easy managing of voicemails. Super easy to set up. Just plug it in, and you're set. You can also give each phone a name, so you know where they go to. For instance, Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room. This comes in handy when using the walkie talkie feature, so you know which zone you're trying to talk to. The phones light up neon blue. Very sleek, modern styling. Conclusion: For the price, you will be extremely satisfied with this purchase! This is the best home phone system I've ever had, bar none. If you're considering a system, I highly recommend buying this.

I am using them alongside the OBi100 VoIP adapter and glad I decided to! It is definitely clearer than a regular landline. I have the base down in the basement alongside the router and VoIP adapter and it gets perfectly clear signal on the 3rd floor. Very convenient having all the phones pull signal from the main base, that way all you need is power for the other bases. The answering machine is easy to turn off so a third party voicemail can answer (Google Voice in my case). The phones are shaped in a very well thought out way and look sleek. The ringtone could be a bit louder, but it's good enough for me. The buttons have quite a "clicky" sound, which can be looked at as good or bad. To me it feels cheap, but it might be nice to have so you know whether or not you actually clicked the button. Only time will tell how long they will last. Definitely recommend these phones though!

I know not everyone still uses a land-line but I do and my old one was getting worn and the batteries were barely holding a charge. To buy replacement batteries of all the handsets would have brought the price to just under what I paid for this and the V-Tech LS6405 Accessory Handset. If you've ever owned a V-tech phone then you pretty much know how to set up and use this phone, their menu is pretty much unchanged. The HD Audio doesn't exactly produce better voice quality than previous non-HD version but it does give a more unfiltered audio. For me this means, when using this phone it picks up more background noise and the other person on the phone just sounds louder but not necessarily sharper or clearer. You can adjust the volume but that's about it. In this regards I actually prefer the previous models. The model also has a voice assist caller ID. Meaning when the phone rings, as long as the caller id info is available the phone will read out the name on display. If the name is private or unavailable the phone will read out the incoming number. On default, based on the amount of time before the answering machine picks up, the announcer will read the name or number twice. I tend to get a lot of international calls so the announcer never actually finishes calling out the phone number before it repeats. I think it might be set to only read the first 10 numbers as is the standard for U.S. phone numbers. I've yet to get a call from a 1-800 number so I don't know if it would read that fully on default. The display is bright and the contrast allows me to see who's calling from afar even when the voice assist is turned off (it comes turned-on by default). The dial pad is flat but very tactile and easy to dial without looking. The push-to-talk feature is great and we use it extensively in my house. Sure, you could just use your cell but it's a bit easier just reaching for this, pressing one button and being able to talk to everyone in the house at the same time. If you need a land-line then I would recommend this for the home. V-tech always makes quality handsets.

Given the fact you get 3 handsets in one low price, I was already pretty happy with that. But the ease of use and the decent quality of the phone itself made it truly a worthwhile buy. The sound quality is decent, and it was actually better than my previous GE phones. The speakerphone works very well and the audio is much clearer than my old phones as well. I also like the fact the buttons are big and easy to press. It's not the smallest or sleekest landline phone on the market, but overall it's not too bad. The phone is pretty thin, though it isn't very small (it's got a fair amount of length to it). The answering machine is easy to use/figure out and the display screen is bright and easy to read. The main base of the phone is fairly small and does not eat up a lot of space on your desk or table. The bases on the extra handsets are even smaller (which is great IMO). All in all it's a very decent package for anyone who's looking for a decent landline phone that comes packed with additional handsets, rather than having to pay for extra ones.

These phones are just as described. They work flawless. When I received them, I "put them together" (battery, etc) and then plugged in all three for an entire day. The next day I unplugged my previous cordless phone set and put these in those places. Battery life is great. The Push to Talk feature is really handy to "get the attention" of my teenage daughter when she's in her bedroom. It's also been quite a fun feature for us adults to use as a WAKE UP CALL (push to talk) for our daughter... when we don't want to just barge in and invade her privacy. Really loving the feature of "announcing caller". I set it up, for instance, to announce "Your Mom" when my mom rings from her cell phone. So I hear, "Call from... Your Mom". Really neat and handy feature. Now... if we could just stop from the old habit of jumping up to "see" who's calling (before it has a chance to tell us)! I already recommended the product to my parents, and they were on Amazon within a few days purchasing their own. They put two in there house and one in their garage, which is about 150 feet away from the main base. Works perfectly for them as well. Really happy I made the purchase.

I bought the Vtech cordless phone in the 3-piece set (LS6425-3), and installed it in my new house 6 weeks ago. I also purchased a fourth individual accessory phone. Installation was hassle free, and everything worked on the first try. As a basic phone system it works, and the range is very good, compared to my 6-year old Uniden 5.8 GHz system, which started to fade as soon as you moved just one room away from the base. I like the fact that a change of data entered in one handset, such as addition of a new contact and number, is automatically transferred to all the others. The weakest part of this system is the sound quality. It is advertised as HDAudio, but the sound is always distorted, so much so that I find myself frequently straining when a crucial number or name is mentioned. (I have had my hearing checked and there is no problem there.) The distortion seems to be about the same whether one uses the "speaker" or "phone" setting. I believe the problem lies with the very small speakers installed in the handsets. Sound is a vibration of the molecules in the air. The problem with a small, lightweight speaker is that it is difficult for it to set in motion a sufficient mass of air to produce a clearly audible wave. This is a problem of almost all lightweight speakers, and applies to most cell phones as well. Despite the much higher cost, my experience has been that a cell phone or portable cordless phone rarely matches the sound quality of a well-made stationary set. This is unfortunate as the freedom and portability are features we have all become accustomed to. Related to the low-fidelity sound is the very poor quality of the caller ID announcement. I have yet to understand the complete statement of a single one of these announcements. The programmed speech consistently emphasizes a wrong syllable, or even confuses the sound of a consonant. I am never able to be sure what it is saying, until I go over and read the screen display. One additional point of clarification may help buyers not familiar with communications technology. The gigahertz rating on a telephone is NOT a measure of the strength or range of its signal, and therefore higher is not better. It should not be confused with the Gigahertz rating used to measure the clock speed of a computer processor, where higher is usually better. A cordless phone is essentially a small portable radio transmitter and receiver. All radio signals have a frequency, which is the measure of the number of vibrations per second of the invisible electromagnetic wave that travels from the source to the receiver. A gigahertz (GHz) is 1 billion cycles per second, the very high frequency at which cordless phone systems operate. The high frequency does not imply greater power or range. In fact, shortwave radio signals that are one hundred thousand times lower in frequency may travel much further than cordless phone signals. The advantage of a higher frequency is that more information can be encoded into the same bandwidth; this is important because of the very high demand for the radio frequency spectrum. Until recently, most cordless phones operated at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz. Although the higher frequency was sometimes marketed so as to imply an improvement in signal strength, this was not the case. The Vtech and most other modern cordless phone systems use the DECT 6.0 system which operates at a lower frequency of 1.9 GHz than the previously developed system. This frequency allows for more than adequate range and signal strength. The problem with this phone system remains the distorted quality of the sound, which seems to be largely due to the poor speakers.

My husband and I recently got a home phone line and needed something basic. I have yet to be disappointed with this product. Some of the other reviews here mention issues with sound quality. Now, we are by no means sound quality experts, but calls come in a lot more clearly than on our cell phones. I tend to use the house phone rather than my cell when I am home primarily for this reason. The system is attractive and really easy to set up and use. We use the answering machine and have set the phone up so that the voicemail that comes with our phone service acts as a backup for the answering machine. The voice is a little hard to understand, and can be annoying, but that is a really minor complaint. The only other thing I wish I could do is save phone numbers to my contacts from the call log. It could be that this is possible, but if it is I have not been able to figure it out easily. When it comes to tech I like to be able to play around and figure features out on my own, and only look to the manual for the more intricate features. I feel like being able to save a contact should be pretty straightforward. Other than that we are really satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic home phone system!

Phone is very good, the only thing I do not like is the screen is very dull. No way to brighten it up. Other than that it is a very nice phone.
