Very good product, a little pricey. 1 draw back I came across is places where I can't heat it to proper temperature without melting things around repair site. But, for the most part works as described. Actually fun to use.

Did not work on the larger holes

Follow directions clean well. I had to scrape off epoxy that didn't work. Then I fine sanded the metal ( 400 grit ) flushed with alcohol to clean off residue and applied welding rods per direction GREAT WELD !!! I found a helpful hint on the internet to insure the metal is at the right temp use a piece of wood that kinda resembles a door stop using the pointed end pass it across the work piece near the weld if it leaves a burn line your good to immeditlay go. For you first timers that's after you heated it with MAP Gas ( Map gas works so much better). Good Luck with your project but with these Aluminum Welding rod's Luck will have nothing to do with it ! .

Brazing rods these are crap it's a solder stick doesn't even hold light metal together do not buy these

Only thing I disliked was on thinner material I was not able to braze both sides of the joint .becasue once one side was aplied and then you have to heat up the other which in turn . Is to be exspected. It would re melt the previous side . But that being said it’s a great product . With me being a welder for 17+ yrs this is very Elementry and I don’t see how anyone couldn’t use it . Very user friendly and now I have a way to bond all metals . Before with only have a dc welder .i could only do ferrous materials !

I wasted two full days trying to weld together an aluminum frame. Without all the proper clamps and fixtures it's impossible to weld something together like an erector set - that was my approach hoping to quickly whip together a welded frame. You cannot weld 3 parts to a single joint and do so one at a time by unclamping and reclamping, everything falls apart when heated again. Not to mention it is extremely difficult to keep everything square. If you're looking for something quick and easy, this is not the answer. Consider another way to fasten your aluminum frame pieces together unless your willing to invest the time, energy, and money (clamps) into making it work.

I'm a complete novice welder, literally never done any kind of brazing before today and these are so easy to use and get great, strong welds with. HOWEVER you have to follow the instructions to the letter or you'll have a bad time. I would add to the included instructions that once you get the hang of getting your work piece up to temperature wire brush it right before you're going to start welding, this improves the welds no end. Also be careful of heat dissipation, make sure your work piece isn't resting on anything that will conduct the heat away from it too fast.
