ATP Automotive Y-250 Accelerator Cable

Just Ok
I've had this jeep since 1981. This is the 4th cable I've bought and installed. With each purchase the cable is of poorer quality each time. Its not the vendors fault. Manufacturing globally has a trend and it is to make cheaper products. When it comes to buying a cable I recommend purchasing the least expensive one you can find because they are all made by the same manufacturer. I know this because the 3rd cable I bought one week previously to the 4th cable was less expensive but was the exact same as the this one. The third broke upon installation and i sought a replacement of higher quality. This cable was twice as expensive and was portrayed in name and in the photo as a different brand. In the end it was the same as cable #3. Cable #4 was less brittle though. Look for new old stock.

Two Stars
Does NOT fit OEM style for a 1979 CJ5 with 4.2L. get the 21inch one if you have the same jeep. (it works enough in a pinch, but there is so much bend in the middle that you are running the risk on it sticking)

Does not fit all specified applications. The end of the cable was not long enough from the grommet to the accelerator linkage, had to do some modification. Make sure you take detailed measurements and don't just go on the Amazon compatibility search function.
