Pleased with this right out of the box. I wanted a simple, reliable lamp for working on tabletop projects that didn’t have 8 color temperatures, 12 brightness settings, and looks like a cyborg praying mantis. Simple, stylish, replaceable bulbs, built to last as long as it’s taken care of. Sturdy without being obtrusive and I like that it comes with a heavy base for tabletop use as well as a clamp. One thing to note when using the base, the little set screw is a bit manky but the fit between the arm tenon and the base is so good that I don’t feel it worth worrying about tightening down. Smooth action, stays in place, good range of motion on the arm and head. Minimal plastic parts.

So, I finally decided to bring the TORCHSTAR Metal Desk Lamp with Clamp into my life, and let me tell you, this lamp is a total game-changer. First off, the build quality is impressive—it’s constructed from solid metal and feels like it could survive a minor apocalypse. I was genuinely surprised by how sturdy it is. If you’re tired of your lamp wobbling or tipping over just because you accidentally nudged it, this is the lamp for you. It’s like having a personal bodyguard for your desk. Now, the clamp—oh man, the clamp. It’s seriously one of the best features. It attaches to my desk with a grip so tight, I’m pretty sure it could hold on through an earthquake. I love how it eliminates any worries about the lamp falling over when I reach for my coffee or elbow-deep into a project. It’s secure, reliable, and it keeps everything in place like a pro. Setting this bad boy up was a breeze. The clamp mechanism is straightforward—just twist it on, and you’re good to go. The adjustable arm is a dream come true. It bends, twists, and rotates into just about any position you could need, allowing me to direct the light exactly where I want it. It’s like having a mini spotlight that you can position precisely for whatever task you’re tackling, minus the dramatic flair and flashing cameras. In short, the TORCHSTAR Metal Desk Lamp with Clamp is the epitome of desk lamp excellence. It’s sturdy, functional, and has a clamp that’s basically a fortress. It's well made and study and only complaint is the bulky plastic base. The top part is great but the base is an unattractive oversized hockey puck.

I like the light for the Amazon Warehouse price, It is decent quality but not heavy duty in any sense. For general lighting on a desk its perfect. If you are going to move the arm of the light frequently you may want a heavier duty light.

The TORCHSTAR desk lamp is a great addition to any workspace, especially if you need focused lighting. The clamp design saves space, and the adjustable arm makes it easy to position the light exactly where you need it. I use this on my workbench, and it makes a big difference when working on detailed projects by cutting down shadows and improving visibility. The E26 socket is a nice bonus since you can choose your preferred bulb brightness and color temperature. It’s sturdy, easy to adjust, and very practical for everyday use.

PROS- The lamp was about the size I expected, a small lamp to sit on a desk or corner table (about the height of a 2-liter bottle of pop). The base felt nice and heavy, but was far from sturdy. The Arms, Springs, and Shade appear to be sturdy metal, and the interior was bright white and likely would reflect a lot of light downward where I needed it. It was not pricey. CONS- The one I was shipped appears to have been opened, used, and repackaged - it was missing the table clamp advertised, and the Weighted Base already had a crack in it's plastic sheathing. The base, though heavy, is no a sturdy piece or solid, it has some inner material with a plastic sheath around it, which the anchor peg is a part of. As a result, anchoring the light assembly into this peg and adjusting it at all, bends and warps the oeg where it fans out into the rest of the sheeting, causing it to warp. This was how I found the pre-existing crack in that sheathing. The screw on the base to "secure" the light is made out of a very flimsy plastic - and no I do not mean just the head ot thumbscrew part - the entire shaft of the screw, which means it will fail ver quickly. This could probably be replaced, but it should not need to be. I can not speak to the table clamp as it wa smissing, but I have no confidence in it having been well made based on the base. I also very much dislike that the switch is a very cheap rocker switch, of the type that fail or burn out readily, on the chord and not a turn switch or even pull switch on the lamp itself. I cannot recommend this product because of it's poor quality of manufacture. It is a shame too, as aside from the cheap base, and switch style, everything else about this had promise.

I use this lamp on my computer desk to where I can articulate it low enough where it's not in my eyes, but lights up my workspace very well. Note, when assembling /attaching the articulating arm post into the base, it is an extremely tight fit and the hole in the post must the line with the screw in the base. You really have to push down hard to seat post into the base.

Ok for the price I paid, about $19. I agree completely with another reviewer who said the following. Works fine. Note that the desktop stand is pretty rickety, and not quite heavy enough or balanced enough to instill a lot of confidence. I haven't tried the clamp (not useful for my use case) but since it is 100% plastic, I would be wary of using it that way long term. I don't like that the switch is on the cord and not on the lamp, and I wish I had paid closer attention to how small it is. I assumed it was standard sized.

Very pleased with this lamp. It is good looking - great shade of red. Just what I wanted for a small space. I ordered bulbs for it - small - round (4 in a box - perfect).
