STOTT PILATES Pilates and Yoga Mat

I was drawn to the look and description of this mat, as well as the Stott name. It lists in the description: "Includes carrying strap and Features a non-slip surface". While it does include the carrying strap (which I'd like to get more of for my replacement yoga mat) this mat is definitely NOT non-slip. I practice non-hot/sweat yoga, and I find it utterly frustrating in downward dog or warrior poses when my feet are slipping all over on this mat. It looks nice, and I like that the wording helps me in lining up my foot placement for multiple poses, but this mat is too dangerous to use for any standing yoga poses. I will be relegating this to floor bound exercises such as pilates, or using the foam roller where I'm not concerned about slipping.

The design is cool. The mat is thick but sinks in if I'm on my knees so will need to fold it for more cushion. I'm a little disappointed with the quality though. This is the second one I bought as the first one was ruined when my friend put it on the concrete floor and slept on it. The mat stuck to the ground and parts of the surface ripped off when we were peeling the mat from the ground. I used it less than 10 times up to this point. I thought that the damage was user error (which it still probably was) so I bought another one. When I started using the second one, the surface of the mat was flaking and breaking apart during yoga class. Because of my two experiences, I think I'm going to try a different brand.

Bought it for my girlfriend because she started yoga classes. She really likes it, although she is my girlfriend and it was a gift so maybe not. The yoga mat came with the strap handle and altogether this mat is a really good quality unit. I would recommend this mat to anyone looking for a nice yoga mat.

So cute! But I haven't been using it that long and already the material is starting to pill off like those cheaper mats we all try to avoid using in the gym. Also seems like this should be grippier, but what do I know about yoga?? Very little actually!

I’ve had the mat for one to two years. The material has started to Come off in small pieces. But overall I enjoyed my mat. Since it’s the first mat I’ve owned I have nothin else to compare it to.

nice mat, cool design, but strong chemically, plasticy smell had to hang it outside to air out for a day or two, other than that works great

It's a pretty standard pilates/yoga mat, works well for both. Seems durable and the carrying strap it came with is handy. The reason why I'm giving it four instead of five stars is the cloud print which is rather poor quality. You can barely make out the printed words, looked much better in the photos.

I read a blog on how to make sure you did yoga in the morning, and it recommended putting your yoga mat out in the bedroom, where you couldn't ignore it. So I needed something that looked like it belonged in a home, not a gym, and this ticked the box. Having got it, it's bobbly (cellular I think is the technical term), which you don't get from the pictures, but still very attractive. Actually, I do Pilates, not Yoga. The mat has a bit of give to it like memory foam, and that helps with controlled movement, although it might not suit everyone. It doesn't slip on our laminate floor, nor to my socks slip on the surface. So for a home environment to do Pilates, I would certainly recommend.One warning note: I got 'fulfilled by amazon' delivery, and it came in a box that could barely fit through my front door, for something the size of... a yoga mat. Not very efficient.

I bought the mat for pilates exercises and stretching and it has been excellent! I was worried it would be too thin and my knees would hurt but it is just perfect and still sturdy enough for down dogs etc. It is also very pretty.When I'm doing cardio and get sweaty the mat becomes a little slippery, but I haven't seen a mat that wouldn't.

This is a half star in reality:- the mat was packed so badly, that it remained partially marked on one side;- The smell was unbearable, so I had to leave the mat opened in the bathroom, spraying it with water and wash it with natural soap, trying to get rid of the foul smell. It went away after a month;- the quality of the mat is pretty mediocre, because every time I use it (3 times per week), it constantly loses part of the little indentations.Therefore, even though it is comfortable enough, I think I made the wrong decision buying this mat..£25 for a mat that will not last long..:-/

Really disappointing. Purchased as a Christmas Gift so out of the Return Period, but only started using it a month ago. Mat breaks up and sheds foam following normal use; having to throw the thing out now as the bits of foam/ rubber flying around the floor presents a hazard to my crawling baby. Really, really disappointed.

great yoga mat, thicker than my other cheap 6mm mat and great density foam without moving too much. Looks a great mat

Lovely mat, with nice depth for comfort when working on hard floors.Grip is great too - would highly recommend.

I like that this is nice and cushiony, and it's very pretty to look at. But this mat has too many downsides to be worth looking cute. It smells really strong (I've been using it for a month and it still smells) and it's really slippery. I do not have a solid grip in this mat. Even downward dog is dangerous.

Perfect mat. Super Soft almost like memory foam, If you purchase the sticky yoga socks they stick well to the mat as well, However it is sticky enough on its own that you aren't slipping all over the place. The designs are a plus and are cute. Definitely would buy again. Easy to roll up , store and clean as well.

Está súper bonito, tamaño perfecto, mi única queja es que se se aplasta poquito cuando mantienes una posición sobre el, y el piso empieza a sentirse, pero casi inmediatamente al quitarte recupera la forma. Esta súper bien en relación al costo.

Este mat es de muy mala calidad, con cualquier postura de yoga se queda marcadas las huellas o puntos donde se tocó el mat y tarda horas antes de regresar a su forma “normal”. Aparte huele muy fuerte a químicos.

Llegó en el tiempo esperado. De buena calidad, tiene un grosor que lo hace muy cómodo, además incluye unas cintas para transportarlo.

El tapete está padrísimo, color exacto como en la foto.

This is a standard yoga mat. Could probably have found it cheaper elsewhere. I should have done more research. Liked that it came with own yoga strap.
