my favorite way to store my cat treats, no more stale snacks for my kitty
ive got myself a fat of house cat that loves her treats and this is my favorite way to store them. it can hold a couple bags at a time so i can mix up her treats. i can fur sure tell it keeps the snacks fresh compared to just using the bags they are sold in. love that its made of plastic and not glass. almost all of the other canisters for sale are glass, which my cat would love to watch smash into a million shards and spread across the hardwood floors. the other option was metal. tho durable, they are not very see thru and my cat def doesn't like when i run out of treats and will sing me the song of her people at 4am if i go to bed without providing her with a couple little bedtime snacks. the one this is replacing was knocked off its shelf (3ft off the ground) more times than i can count over the years and would just bounce off the floor. this is the second one Ive picked up but will buy again if i need to.

Perfect for storing guacamole--but don't lose the valves
I use this for one thing: storing guacamole. I put the leftover guac in this, push the lid down, which seals the guac off from air. The next day, the guac is still great. No brown at all. Use some, put the lid back down, the guac stays perfect. I keep guac in it for several days, with no browning. UPDATE: I just learned how to clean out the top. I thought the little arrows on it were telling you to rotate it while pressing down on the food, but they were to show you how to take the top apart for cleaning. Duh! After using, you take apart the top and clean it by hand. If you don't, old food gunk stays in there. LATER UPDATE: I'm on my third one of these. I dropped and broke one of them. What happened to the other one was that at some point I lost one of the two small blue valves inside the top. Apparently, they can come off and disappear during washing if you are not careful. When I lost the first one, I just covered the hole with a little piece of duct tape and that actually worked fine. But then I lost the second valve and the container stopped blocking air very well. So, I suggest keeping an eye on those two little valves--as well as the loose round rubber seal which is also in there--when you are washing out the top.

Keeps your guacamole green, but...
This product actually works very well - better than plastic wrap, lime juice, etc. It's also reasonably easy to disassemble and clean. However, based on the type of plastic and wall thickness, I don't expect this to last long without developing a fatal crack that ruins the sealing capability. The other issue is the geometry of the container. Ideally, you'd like to whip this out of the fridge or cooler and serve it immediately. However, it's rather tall and narrow which makes it awkward to reach in for a dip once it is less than 2/3 full. That means you'll need to carry along and additional bowl for serving if you take this to a picnic/BBQ party.

Great for guacamole
I bought this specifically for guac. It works great. Be careful and gently ease the lid down until it fully displaces all the air; stop as soon as you see the tiniest bit of guac squish past the gasket and go up the sides (that tiny bit will get brown but so what, it's an extremely small amount). The gasket is very soft, so if you press too hard you will get an explosion of guac up the sides and maybe even out of the container. So don't do that. You'll need to take the lid apart for cleaning: all the separate pieces, including the gasket and valve covers (little blue disks). It's much easier to clean with a brush than a sponge, so at first I thought it was a pain but now it's a snap. The lid is not dishwasher safe (plus you're gonna lose those valve covers) so take the 60 seconds to wash by hand. I don't know how durable this will be; I don't expect the gasket to last very long given how soft it is, but at this price it's worth it. I also bought a larger size for coffee. Since it's clear, for coffee you need to store it away from light (so not on the counter) but no big deal.

Product functions well...seller isn't overly competent though.
Visually, the container looks as pretty as I hoped. Love that you are able to see exactly how my roasted coffee beans look like and able to see how much is left fotino the outside. It also seems to do the job of pushing out excess air out as you close in the lid so the beans stat fresh. I only dock points for the fact that it feels fairly cheap in the hand as you hold it. Feels very plastic and fragile like it could crack easily if you're not careful. But it hasn't cracked so far and functionally it seems to do the job that I got it for well. My biggest criticism was the experience buying from the seller. I wanted to buy 3 at a time for 3 different roasts I like to do at a time. My God this seller couldn't get it straight. Each time I ordered 3, only 1 would arrive. This happened 3 times. The seller would apologize, refund the other 2 undelivered then make the exact same mistake again. Si I would recommend if you want this product, order 1 at a time individually. Also, the mini size is super tiny capacity so always go a size higher than you think you want because you lose some space with the insert sealer lid design. Works well though.

DON'T LOSE THE SMALL SILICONE BUTTON!!!!!
This was actually a good product, as are the others in this same style, until I lost down the drain, the ESSENTIAL PART that makes it air-tight....one of the two little silicone buttons in the lid. Beware losing the little silicone buttons in then cap!!!! If one, or both, is lost, the canister will no longer be able to be sealed. The canister doesn't come with any instructions at all, and you must figure out for yourself how to remove the various parts of the top in order to clean it/them. When twisting the top segments to open them, it is incredibly easy to dislodge one or both of the silicone buttons, and if they fall down the drain, the canister is no longer air-tight and guacamole, for instance, will be exposed to the air and will discolor and spoil. I contacted Prepara, the manufacturer, and their customer service said they do not have any 'spare parts' for the canisters-- I offered to buy a replacement button, but they were not helpful.......they were just sorry for any "inconvenience".....Sorry, Prepara, this was no mere "inconvenience"!!! The canister is no longer 'fit for purpose' because it is no longer air-tight. I wasn't asking for any 'freebie parts' ....... I offered to pay. It is a mighty expensive canister without the buttons! I will not buy anything else, ever, from Prepara.

5 star after modifications
The plan is to use this with whole coffee beans. I knew from the start that it's clear plastic so you need to keep the container out of the light. Either stick it in the cupboard or cover the container with something opaque like paint or foil tape(duct tape is usually translucent). One thing i noticed is that the lid can be taken apart for cleaning. Simply grab the top and bottom in different hands and twist counter clockwise to unlock. From here I noticed that theres actually two one way valves in both directions that create the vacuum effect. I'm not sure if it makes a huge differences but i went ahead and made it so both of the large ends were on inside. Very easy to do. This makes it harder to open but makes me more confident in it being air tight. I'm happy with my purchase at less than $15. If you're not cheap like me, you might as well spend extra on the Airscape which looks better all around for coffee storage, but costs more than double.

It Is Airtight
This container is great. Some reviews say it is not airtight. I thought the same thing because when you put your product in the container and push the top down it is very easy to pull back up which makes it seem like it hasn’t sealed....but it has. It is easy to pull back up because the valves in the lid work both ways. If they didn’t, you would not be able to pull the lid up after pushing it down. I know it seals because I cut onions for stir fry and pushed the lid down to seal. The next day I smelled the container and there was absolutely no smell of onion. When the lid was removed the onion smell was very strong. I am ordering another today. Very attractive unit and easy to clean.
