Almost perfect
Smaller than I imagined, but no big deal. Definitely worth it for the money, it does work as long as your battery isn't dead beyond repair. Also comes with some different ways to connect it to a battery, I'm assuming if you wanted to do a more permanent mounting of it in the car, which I may do because the car I was using it on only gets driven a few months out of the year. The only downside I had was at some point in the 8 hours I left it charging, it stopped charging and went to "bad battery/wrong hookup" mode. But after unplugging it and plugging it back in, it went right back to charging and charged the battery up so that the car could be started. Can't say where the battery was in terms of initial charge, but it was definitely not enough to even crank the vehicle. All in all, for the money, it works just fine. Definitely not a fast charger, but it will get the job done.

Basic, no-frills charger. Just connect it and it WORKS ... no hassle, no complications!
Basic, no-frills charger. Just connect it and it WORKS ... no hassle, no complications! However, I do miss not having a visual indication (meter or LED) of it charging. Only has an LED to indicate when it's plugged-in and has power (no power switch), but no way of telling if it's actually charging (or how much). You have to go on faith ... some (many?) people PREFER it that way *hee*hee* It works, and it's CHEAP ,,, good buy if you don't need the extra frills of a more expensive charger.

Charged SUV's Battery, but had to take it out
The most important thing is that the charger did work! It charged my battery in Toyota RAV4 2015 that died because the car has not been used due to the lock down. It was completely dead- I could not even unlock the car with the keys! I tried one of the jump start batteries which didn't work. This charger, however, solve the problem! Thank God!!!! It took less than 24 hours before the light went green from charging to charge- in about 16 hours. Even though the website indicates that SUV battery will not charge, if you have a smaller battery in your SUV, it will do the job. It worked for us. I was expecting to have it out charging for about 30 hours (got the 2 amp) but it was ready in a lot less. I was able to take the car for gas and started the car several times, therefore, I assume the battery is fine now. It is about 1.5 year old and has 30 month guarantee, so it would be waste of money getting a new battery because it just needed to be charged. The instructions can be a bit confusing though. It says that it can charge the battery when left in the car, but one of the instructions said that the battery has to be taken out. For safety reasons, I removed the battery (it is not as difficult as long as you follow the instruction which cable to remove first) and charged it on a patio with a roof. It took only three screws to take it out. Anyone with the right tools and a little bit of strength to carry the battery out can do this. This also allowed me to clean the battery a little since there was a blue corrosion on the positive area of the battery. I'm not an expert and this was truly my first experience with car battery, but I'm glad I gave this charger a try. We are going to run the car more often now so we don't run into any other problems from not using the car....

A nice basic charger at a nice price
I bought the charger after I had a problem with the battery in one of my cars. It came in handy right after delivery because the AAA guy diagnosed the problem as the battery - it was the alternator. It charged the battery enough to get it to the repair shop. Later my son left a recently purchased car here for a week and left a light on. The battery was less that 1 Volt when I attached it - I guess it though there was a short and wouldn't do anything. The indicator LEDs just shut off. Probably the best strategy. Bottom line: seems to work fine and 2A is enough to get enough charge in a battery in a few hours to start it. And the price is very reasonable.

Paid for itself in a week!
I actually bought this to charge my 2009 Honda Metropolitan scooter which is something like a Vespa. However days after I bought this charger, I was all dressed up to go somewhere, but my 2011 Honda Element was dead. There apparently was enough juice to turn on the lights, but when I turned the key in the ignition the motor was flat dead. I called AAA to give me a jump, but I was told I already use my four service calls within the year. So I asked how much would it cost to come out and give me a jump? AAA wanted $95! I live in a metropolitan area, so I am surely just minutes away from an AAA contractor, and in the past when this is happened they used a portable jumper and the guy was gone in less than 5 minutes. No way was I going to pay AAA such a high price, especially when I’m already paying them a lot for their premium membership! Luckily the thought came into my mind to try this little charger because I remember in the reviews some people say it even started their car. I am not at all a mechanical person, so I watched a YouTube video on how to do this, then I hooked the cables and let the unit run for less than an hour because I really had to be somewhere. When I then unpowered the charger, removed the cables, and turned the key there was at first a very slight delay, and then it started right up! After a couple pumps of the accelerator it sounded as good as new, but I did go directly to a shop and had a new battery installed. I am not only super thrilled that this little charger did a great job on a fairly good-sized car, I felt great that it was simple enough for a dumb blonde to operate it successfully. Best of all, I didn’t give AAA the victory of gouging $95 from me in a near emergency situation. That’s why am taking the time to write this review!
