The Expert has become my favorite pen. It uses a very popular format refill which gives lots of choices. I LOVE the click posting of the cap. The finger rest is a great shape and offers comfortable grip for control. The weight suggests quality but doesn't slow you down. Comfortable size for my large hand. Offered in several stunning colors and finishes.

Like most Waterman's, this is a stunning pen. I've had a number of Waterman's over the past 20 years, starting with the first one I bought in Paris at the Gibert Jeune store near the Notre Dame, and have been using them ever since. This particular model, though retaining essentially the exact same physical shape and style of the "Expert" series that have been sold for all these years, is different because it is made of brushed stainless steel with gold accents. Gold accents are no stranger to Waterman's, of course, but it is the brushed stainless steel--which varies between a highly elegant and a slightly used look, depending on what angle you see it at--is just delightful. It's classical in every sense of the word. Most Waterman's use a highly polished body, but this model forgoes that approach to use the brushed steel look, which really crosses the line between dressy and casual. Don't get me wrong: this is an elegant looking pen, one that you can take to any setting, but that brushing gives the pen an almost "worn" look that just makes it stand out. The photos here of the pen are accurate, but you can't easily get the full impact of the pen's looks until you see it in person. I highly recommend it.Note:As many "pen people" know, refills for these pens, including Waterman, Mont Blanc, etc., can be hideously expensive. What's not so openly said, though, is that the Japanese Pentel G2 pen refills are often more pleasant to use than the German-made ones, and, get this, they only cost about two dollars each.It's the first thing I did when I got my Waterman (which I still purchase because it remains made in France) is to remove the cartridge and replace it with the G2 refill, and it's a great writing experience. Excellent quality, excellent price. Fast shipping. I am using this pen daily for work, it looks great and it feels great in my hand. Bonus: The cap "clicks" on the other end while it's open for use, so it doesn't fall off while I'm writing.

Just purchased two Waterman's, the Expert and Charleston rollerballs. Both are nice, although I like the heft of the Expert better.The only issue is the ink will stop for a few seconds. Nothing a good shake or scribble won't fix (most of the time) but somewhat annoying considering the price. I have read the ink refills made in France are trouble free and the rest (mine are both made in Germany) are suspect. Seems to be true in my case.Bottom line, very nice pen but the $7 refill not working is a disappointment.

I received the Waterman Expert Deluxe Rollerball today and am considering returning it? While it is very comfortable it feels cheap and flimsy. The weight of it is pretty light and not well balanced. I say this because I have a much older Expert that feels more solid and is a bit heavier. It just makes me wonder if this is a knock-off or if Waterman is cutting corners. For $90 it should feel more substantial.

I bought This pen as a birthday gift and had read reviews saying the ink cartridge wasn’t included so I bought Some locally. When pen arrived, the ink WAS included and looks like a super special gift. Am very pleased!

Nella confezione non c'è il libretto di istruzioni o garanzia. È un regalo e sembra un oggetto riciclato. Ho chiesto una sostituzione tramite servizio clienti, ma anche la seconda penna è arrivata senza il libretto. Peccato perchè per il costo mi sembra assurdo non avere una garanzia.

No problem with the pen, but buy locally to avoid Canada Post. Moving a package from their sorting facility to the local post office -- a 10-minute drive -- takes them a full week. Their motto seems to be We don't deliver today what we can deliver a week later.
