Good read ... funny, romantic- basically what we wish our lives were at 17 ..
Famous in love - Good read ... funny, romantic- basically what we wish our lives were at 17 ..1. Good book, easy to read, finished it in two days.2. Why wasn't the age difference between the main characters rainer and paige a bigger issue?3. The ending could have been better, I felt so lost (not because I didn't understand it) but after pages upon pages of paige being so conflicted about her choice she ended up picking a guy on a whim? Pity maybe Idk I was annoyed by that.4. Paige getting this role for locked turned into boy drama instead of her achievements and future as an actress. (That was her dream, no?)However Paige is 17, young, inexperienced and somewhat too trusting (like we all were at 17) so I totally understand her decision making and getting swept away by two hot actors. So 3 stars for that.

Good story for any age - especially if you find movie stars intriguing.
I enjoyed this book. I only knew about it because I discovered the television show first. While the story is well told and fairly captivating, it doesn't match the show in several pretty significant ways. I will leave that to the reader to discover should they choose to contrast and compare. Overall, I found myself pretty enthralled. The main character drew me in. I enjoyed experiencing newfound fame along with Paige. At first I didn't know whether I would stick with the story since I discovered that the setting and other key points didn't match the show, but I hung in there. I am glad I did. Underlying the obvious love triangle is an element of human compassion that you feel as the story develops. I liked that there was something in this book that I could think about and ponder a bit. While entertaining, it also made me consider things in my life that I hadn't wanted to mull over. I can't wait to find out how this all ends.

The book was okay, but not without flaws
The book was okay.... Although it's absolutely nothing like the TV series, which is the only reason I bought it in the first place. In fact, practically the only thing the book and movie share are the characters' names. The book also drags in some places, and even became a chore to read at those parts. It really felt like Paige accomplished nothing at all through the entire book, even though that isn't actually true. The worst part, though, in my opinion, was who she chose in the end. No spoilers, but it wasn't great. As far as quality goes, I got the paperback edition and it arrived looking about as perfect as a paperback book can look. The cover was flawless, and the pages were perfect. The book has about 320 pages, not including acknowledgements and the sneak peek at the second book.I know my review is more negative than positive, but the book is actually pretty good, for the most part, which is why I gave it four stars. In fact, the first half-to-three-quarters of the book was a very enjoyable read! I suggest that if you're going to read this book, you shouldn't go into it expecting it to be like the TV show, you won't get what you expected, but if you're reading it just as a book, with no expectations in way of the show, it should be fine!

Unexpectedly Famous
This Audible Audiobook of Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle tells a dazzling story of a woman named Paige whose life dramatically changes when she takes a chance to audition for a film based on the Locked novel. Paige also helps explain how her friends indirectly influenced her interest to audition for the film based on a popular novel. As others have noted the caveat is that this Famous in Love Audiobook has a setting that pertains more to Hawaii while the television show of Famous in Love features more towards California (the shoot for the film takes place in Maui). As an aspiring creative fiction writer, I am also glad to have came across this kindlebook as I unexpectedly got some creative ideas for story building just from listening to it.

0/10. Don't waste your time.
This book was terrible. The show is much better and more diverse which is INCREDIBLY strange considering the book takes place in Hawaii while the show takes place in the OC. Everyone in the book is white and blonde despite this and Paige is so incredibly uninteresting. The writing is so passive and it made me feel like I wasn't at all even in the story. Like everything was just this boring afterthought.Honestly. The show is better. more diverse, and well written and that is the first and only time I will ever say that about anything.

Well written, kept me sucked in
I watched the series based on the book, binges it of course then about halfway through realized there were book(s) to read...I like both versions. Book is always better! Made me feel the flips in my stomach and clenches of my heart, now to read Locked before the sequel

Fun read
Really enjoyed reading this. From what I had seen I thought it was going to be about after the film is made and the results of that, but I was very happy to find it it was about Paige's story from the beginning and how the filming process was for her. Buying the second book now!

The characters aren't really fleshed-out and I didn't really like the main character or side characters
It was a quick read, but it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I'm debating whether I should give the sequel a shot or not. The characters aren't really fleshed-out and I didn't really like the main character or side characters. Also, there was a lot that was inaccurate about filming a movie that I couldn't easily look past. I'm probably just being uptight, but, like I said, I don't think it was for me.

Very different to the tv show
Love the tv show. I read reviews saying that the book is quite different and more about the romance, but I love romance so though that’d be fine. But I disliked the book. I just found the girl unrealistic. We’re told that she’s always desperately wanted to be an actress - but the second she gets it, she’s kinda whingey about it. A lot of the characters felt like stereotypes and most of them - especially her friends, and Jordan - are completely different than in the tv show. Basically the tv show borrowed the starting point and the character’s names then rewrote the plot to make it way better. But even if I didn’t know the tv show I’d still have struggled with this, its just not very interesting, all the focus is the romance but the ending to all that is unsatisfying.Won’t bother with the sequel.
