No Blurp Blurp
The design is the best I saw out there. No plastic or wood. Conical shape to heat efficiently. Can be used indoor or camping. Brew to desired strength. I bought mine in used/very good condition. Had no box and missing the wire hanger but otherwise perfect and clearly never used. Not bad for half off! I'M A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IT DOESN'T MAKE THE BLURP BLURP NOISE WHEN PERKING! TERRIBLE LOL. 8 cup is a nice size for 2 people. Visually a bit bigger than expecting which is good. I didn't want it to be too tiny. Im using a paper filter (punching a hole in it myself for now, prepunched on its way)cause I dont like cleaning so much and just a few grounds slip out when lifting. Nice to have for when SHTF or camping.

Well made and a great investment!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this coffee pot, as well as the thickness (gauge) of the stainless steel. Even the internal basket parts are made of thicker than expected stainless steel. Should last for years. I have used it on my electric range, and gas camping stove, and it worked well on both, although it heated up a little faster on the gas stove. I have used it with perculator in place, as well as without it (to make cowboy coffee). Worked great both ways. The handle stays surprisingly cool, and the bail is nice to help pour when it is full, or when using over a campfire. Capacity with the basket in place is 8 cups (measured), 14 cups without it. 3 year update: I have used this everyday for 3 years now, and it still looks like new. This was a great investment. I'm sure my children and grandchildren will be using this long after I'm gone. I've used it on a coil type electric range, a glass top electric range, gas camping stove, gas range, and over a campfire, and it worked well in every case. UPDATE: After 4 years of daily use, it's still going strong, with no issues or complaints. Cleans up well even after using over a campfire. Ditched my drip style coffeemakers. I recommend this product to everyone who enjoys coffee.

Something I always wanted
This stainless steel coffee pot is perfect for my camping and home needs. It is well made of heavy weight stainless. The glass dome is thick glass and removable for cleaning. The basket is solid stainless as well. It is hard to find a pot that comes with that. The pot is small enough to keep in my camp supply box. Just made my 1st pot of coffee in it. Tasted great and was hot! The brew strength depends on how long you perk it. I purchased the 8 cup size. I balked at the price to begin with. Looked at these years ago. There were so many complaints about the quality of the lid and construction that I decided to wait. Perfect for a campfire, propane or gas stove. When used on a wood fire just coat the outside with liquid dish soap and the black will wash right off. It arrived real quick after my order was placed and was well packed. This little pot will remain in my house when I’m not out camping for daily use. Keep your Kurege! This is coffee done right.

GSI coffee pot
It appears to be a quality product and durable for its intended use of making coffee. I wish it had markings on the pot indicating the water/cups level. The packaging was not very durable as the cardboard was pretty torn up upon arrival, however the pot was in good shape with no apparent damage

Sturdy and preforms great
I hung this over an open fire for 2 months every morning. Then I used it over a propane burner for another 3 months daily. I honestly abused this percolator. Scorched it, dropped it, bent it, left it in the fire accidentally, dropped it a few more times, and bent it some more. This beat up, abused, ugly percolator made delicious coffee every time. It cleans out easily, and though the charred blackened outside is ugly, the stainless steel on the inside is spotless. I really put it to the test and it held up! I needed a rugged heavy duty coffee pot, and this is perfect. I will take this ugly burnt dinged up percolator inside and continue to make coffee with it, remembering the stories it shows, for many more years. A high quality, super durable percolator that performs great, and is now on its way to becoming an heirloom. Thanks

I cant believe I have missed out on percolator coffee all my life!
First off, this is well made. Great shape, all steel, and well designed. It can be hung over a fire or I just put it on the camp chef as that's how I'll be using it most often. I measured everything so I could leave an informed review. A bit more than 8 cups of water fit in here when making coffee, because the rest of the volume is taken by the percolator basket. You'll see when you remove the basket there is a little metal ring on the top of the spout that goes down into the pot. Don't have your water going above that ring. That ring holds the grounds basket. Based on that amount of water, I coarsely ground the coffee (Coarse, like there were a few whole beans left and that was ok. Coarse keeps less grounds from going in the pot.) and measured 16 tablespoons of ground, and put that in the basket. Then, time to turn on the heat. Go high to begin with. After a few minutes (time varies based on your heat source) I saw clear water in the glass cap. A minute or 2 later the water was a little brown. From that point on I went about 5 more minutes. I think it could go longer too, which I'll experiment with. I had to turn the heat down at that point as it was boiling too fast and overflowed a little. It responded as soon as I turned the heat down and didn't overflow anymore. Next time I would turn the heat to medium or medium low as soon as water is seen in the glass cap. I'm using a 30,000 btu stove, remember that. Anyway, then I poured it into a mug. Looked good, smelled good. Had to wait a while to be cool enough to drink. The taste was less burnt and acid than typical coffee and more creamy and rich. Holy moly! So good! You can't make a half pot or the hydraulics of the little steam engine that is your percolator won't work. So I have some coffee for later. I might buy a smaller pot too, for when it's just me. I am very impressed!
