Great for in and out the classroom
Got an A in medical microbiology, the hardest class I've ever taken. Textboox is structured great, and is useful in future microbio classes

Spine was a little bent
The book edition and content were what I expected, the only problem is the cover of the book and shipping. I’m guessing it got knocked around in transit because the top of the book’s spine is Zsmushed in. No other issues after +2 months of use though, so I just reinforced that part of the spine with tape and called it a day.

A good summary with several mistakes
Overall, this is a good clinical microbiology book, and biology majors, medical students can use it well. However, there should have been 2-3 more actual clinical microbiologists contributing to it, then most of the mistakes could have been avoided. Just to mention a few:1. The book is several years behind practice, focuses on culture methods, while largely ignoring molecular methods, and barely mentioning sequencing, metagenomics (e.g., p199 stating NNATs are less sensitive than culture is a questionable statement at minimum), references are pooled at the end of each chapter, not throughout the text.2. For several diseases, the epidemiology section does not mention actual statistics, therefore the relevance of the disease is hard to assess (eg, p214).3. It has ridiculous typos (eg Diagnosis section, p217)And the list could go on. I appreciate the efforts, but this could have been a much better book with more expertise and oversight

Awful smell
This book came sealed in plastic but with an awful smell almost like curry. The smell is so overpowering and awful that I can’t even use it with out feeling sick.
