Good enough for bike commuting in Seattle rain!
Great backpack. I bike commute in Seattle and so far this backpack has kept everything inside bone dry (the reflector is also really bright). My last backpack, which was also waterproof, had so much fabric on the outside that it would dry slowly once it got wet, leading to some nasty smells - the BackSak doesn't have that problem, so I'd recommend it for other bike commuters. It's got good padding on the back and broad straps that are comfortable for long periods of time. It's also huge - tons of space for everything inside. The chest buckle is a little too high and not really useful for much, but other than that I'd say perfect backpack.

Simply, the best bicycle commuting backpack available.
I live in Nashville, Tn and am one of perhaps 200 people who cycle to work in this city everyday where it rains over 50 inches per year. Not many people know that, and I didn't before I moved here in 2011.I lived in Britain for 10 years and never had to worry about the severe type of down pours I have experienced since I relocated to the American South. Now the product review: For the price, weneed to recognize this is the best commuter cycling back pack on the market today. It is light, visible, water-tite, easily loadable, and comfortable to wear. This back pack is actually better than canoeing water-tites I have purchased. NOTE: The outside pocket shown with my Company iPhone, is not waterproof so don't do this!

Perfect waterproof pack
We purchased this bag for a trip to Costa Rica where we would have several adventures around water. We did waterfall rappelling, lots of hiking through the rainforest, a 2-day whitewater rafting trip, snorkeling, and then spent 5 days at the beach. This bag was the best purchase we made before the trip and we got so many compliments from the local guides. I can't imagine going on this trip with all of these activities without this backpack. We have recommended this bag so much already and will continue to do so!

Functional, sleek, packs a lot, awesome.
I got this bag for a train trip from Canada to Southern California. I am super happy with it so far. You can fit a lot in it in many different configurations because there are not a bunch of compartments in it. I use smaller travel bags to organize my stuff inside and it works really well. I got the light grey version and it fits in no matter where I am or how I am dressed - it’s outdoorsy enough to go hiking and sleek enough to go to a decent restaurant without looking out-of-place. It’s comfortable. The straps have good padding and the back cushioning is great. I have a small frame (5’4”, 115lbs) and it fits nicely. The only thing I wish I had was some sort of hip strap, because there is so much room in the bag that I tend to pack it so that it gets quite heavy. Overall I would definitely recommend this bag.

EVERYTHING stayed dry for me!
I LOVE this bag! I've used it once so far on a casual 3 hour long tubing trip down the Salt River. It was comfortable on my shoulders, especially with the chest strap. Kept my hands free for carrying other stuff to & from the river. The roomy outside pocket made it super easy to get to stuff that could get a little wet in a pinch i.e. cash, chap stick, small sunblock. The inside pocket is great to keep things even more protected from water! The key holder (didn't have to go looking for my keys) & netted pockets are great! The option to snap it closed either down the sides or above & have a handle is so smart! The back padding is so nice & allows ventilation. I like that it is rectangular & not cylindrical, my stuff fit better. It does float too. I ran a dock line thru the straps to anchor it to my cooler tube while floating.

. I would have paid more because it’s exactly what works for adventure travel.
My wife and I travel the world full time. We have mastered packing lightly while still having all we want that makes us comfortable. NO CHECKED LUGGAGE is the right call! That being said, selecting the right carry on and the right ‘personal item’ to fly with, is an important part of the travel experience. We fly with a Tumi carry on and your backpack (25L). This is after decades of fine tuning. We also carry the smaller daypack with us and it works perfectly. Rugged, simple, functional, waterproof, and lastly and least important is that the price is extremely fair.

Good for surfing trips
I purchased this waterproof backpack after doing some research on Amazon. There was a specific bag I wanted from a rival company, but the online reviews seemed to indicate that it wasn't made all that well. (shoulder straps coming apart and such)I wasn't looking so much for a 100% waterproof bag, I just need something to carry my wetsuit, wax, towel, keys, water, phone, blah blah to the beach without getting everything sandy and covered with schmutz. (I've previously been transporting my gear with reusable grocery bags, so anything is a step up!)I've only used the backpack a few times, but it is great and gets the job done. Seams seem sturdy and it is very comfortable. There's a bit of a learning curve with the top opening versus traditional zippers, but it is fine. The front pocket is great for storing things you need immediate access to like your phone. As for the design, it might be cool if they put some drink holders on the side, but not a deal breaker.Bottom line: It keeps your belongings dry and clean, it's lightweight, it appears to be solidly built and is very comfortable. Recommend.
