I rarely write product reviews, but I was surprised that catchmaster actually worked so decided to make the effort. I am in the midst of a great war with multiple armies of leaf cutter ants, all determined to take down my rose bushes The directions to wrap a tree trunk with plastic wrap was not very doable for my roses But I found two methods that worked. For my climbing rose, which only has a few heavy stems I wrapped them each with tree wrap, and then smeared the goop right onto the tree wrap. That worked great until they climbed up the wall so then I smeared some on the wall and that also worked. For the smaller rose bushes that had too many stems to try and coat. I used an old mountain bike innertube. It was really easy to smear the goop onto something as heavy duty as the innertube, and then I just laid the tube around the entire bush. The leaf cutter ants, which don’t seem to be deterred by anything else, refuse to cross a sticky patch — a 2-3 inch band is sufficient to stop them completely. Warning that it is very sticky and even though I wore disposable gloves which I threw away, I still managed to get it on my hands. Wash with warm water and soap then moisturize wipe the moisturizer off with an old towel and repeat seemed to work.

Used this on top of bands of duct tape to kill THOUSANDS of Spotted Lanternflies over the summer. Stays on even through rain. Great product!

Got this to work with inspect lure and mixed results. The sticky substance did a great job if something landed on it, but the lure didn't do great, so not as much opportunity to use it as expected. Easy to install but it's a mess if you get it on anything unintentionally.

Purchased to catch spotted lantern flies, if you don't know what they are, wait a few minutes and you will. They are taking over the country, destroying anything and everything. They are fond of vegetation in general and are hard to kill. If you try and step on them they jump before you can get them. The trick is to get your foot in front of them. They can only jump forward, so if you get in front they have to jump into your foot! Remember where you learned this... Anyways, resistance is futile, their is not enough feet in the world to stomp them all out! They spread and multiply faster than rabbits on spring break. You will be amazed that the first time you see them you will see thousands of them, then next year a million of them will be there! Then they are literally every place you look, covering your entire house! No exaggerating! The trick to this is that they lay their eggs in trees and at night they walk up the trees and homes and everything else to eat sleep and reproduce. So you wrap the tree a few feet of the ground with some plastic food wrap or shrink wrap and then spread this sticky stuff onto the plastic all the way around the tree. The next day it is covered by thousands of flies! That's when you are grateful I gave you the plastic wrap advice. Just peel it off and toss it out and start over again. Your mind is going to be blown at the amount of these flies you will catch daily. Only bad part is that this large tub isn't going to put a dent in the population and you will be going insane with how many their are. Stock up on this stuff though because this is about the best stuff you can find for the job, I tried everything else and this brand is the best! It isn't going to be a cure for the problem at all, but if you have fruit trees or any food baring tree, they will destroy in just days. And they haven't found any type of insecticide that even touches these things. But even if they did, would you want it on your food? So this is it! Get it now before the price climbs up. It's not an if it happens situation, it is going to happen and it's happening fast! They spread across 2 states in a year or less, they have no enemy and they have nothing to fear, if it can kill them, it can kill anything. This is a chemical free solution that won't put a dent in the problem but can save the tree it's on! Again, this is not a drill! Buy it now!

All products are not equal and this one I won’t buy again I purchased 2 other brands and both are far superior for stickiness This one is like spreading Vaseline. The other 2 are very tacky and difficult to apply because they want to stick to everything but are far better for trapping insects

Catchmaster works great! I smeared it on a blue coffee container to catch deer flies. Super easy to use. I used a tongue depressor to smear on a thin layer. It's sticky gooey stuff, exactly what I was expecting! I had that hanging outside, seeing sun about half the day, and this stuff never ran, dripped, moved which was awesome because I was worried about the stuff dripping onto the deck on a hot day. I would highly recommend for you to try for whatever sticky project you have. Next year I'll use the blue solo cups and try those because the blue caught 95+% dear flies only. I used vegetable oil to remove this sticky stuff off my hands along with paper towels, then repeated, then washed with soap and water.

this stuff is a mess but it works. painted palstic containers blue and yellow and coated with this product hung from tree branches in areas where insects were unwanted, blue and yellow attract different insects
