Very Happy With This Machine
Buying a coffee maker on Amazon is hard. There are so many choices and each one out there has glowing reviews followed by scathing ones. I searched for weeks before finally deciding on the Krups EC140.What sold me on this one? It was the front facing water level window, the included reusable filter, and most of all the dual auto brew setting ability. The programable keep warm function for both heat and time was a bonus. I love the reusable filter and have not noticed the sediment in the bottom of the pot from using the reusable filter that other reviewers noted. This could be the grind of the coffee I use. The filter is very heavy duty compared to the flimsy one that came with my old coffee maker. The programable functions did not disappoint. They are very easy to set. The turning knob is far superior to pushing buttons a hundred times to get to the correct time. What worried me? Wondering if it was too big and if the carafe lid was removable. The size turned out to be just right (see pic). But I am disappointed that the carafe lid does not come off easily. I mean, you CAN take it off, but it requires a bit of effort. It is not designed to be removed daily and requires prying it off with a butter knife. What I wish I knew? Well beside the carafe lid not being removable... This thing beeps. A lot. Beeps when you set it, beeps when you cancel a setting, beeps when the brew cycle is done. And when it is in keep warm mode, the display shows a countdown of the time left for keep warm and not the clock. These things both bothered me at first, but really turned out to be not a big deal in real life. But how's the coffee? Freaking wonderful! Delicious! The temperature is just right! I honestly didn't think it mattered which coffee maker you used, coffee is coffee. We drink our coffee black, so I thought a little bitterness was just a fact of life. I was wrong! The coffee from this machine tastes great, not a hint of that bitterness, even on the bold setting. This review isn't long enough, what else do you have to say? As with every other coffee maker I've ever used, when sneaking a cup, a drip will fall on the burner. The difference between this and my old maker is that the Krups drips just one drop and my old one dripped about seven drops. That being said, I have experienced zero drips from the carafe when pouring. Not a single one when filling the tank, nor when pouring a cup of coffee. Unlike my old machine, I do not have to keep a towel on the counter to catch the flow of water from the carafe when filling the tank.Bottom line? This is a great machine with great features at a great price and I am very happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend.

Not the Excellent Machine, I Thought It Was
This is our second Krups. The first was dropped from a height of ~3" after filling it with water. For ~8 years, until the drop, It was just a great machine, and it was a fast brewing machine, producing excellent coffee reliably..THIS machine is 12 cups, vs 10 so it may not be quite as fast to brew a pot as its predecessor, but on a per cup basis it may very well be just as fast. This machine is easy to use, pours as well or better than any other coffee maker that we've had over 40+ years of coffee making. And the coffee! And the coffee! Ahhh. The Krups folks must be coffee drinkers.Review Update 6/16/20: The machine has begun to require cleaning every other pot or so. The brew cycle stops after about two cups have brewed.Repeated cleaning does not remedy the situation.Krups' on line help form does not accept submittal of the form saying that the phone number format needs to contain only these characters, etc, etc. Repeated tries do not work.Furthermore Krups' own help line phone message says that because of the Corona virus Krups will not be answering the phones. Therefore Krups would be the absolute last coffee maker I'd buy in the future. After dunning the folks at Krupps the marginal unit discussed above was replaced with a new one. This new one meets our coffee brewing needs in every way. It like the first one is fast and easy to use and reliable. We like our coffee and the brew pot is crucial to the process. This will do nicely, thanks Krupps.

Makes great coffee!
I had a Krups coffee maker for 10 years and it made excellent coffee - right temperature, good flavor, not burnt flavor, could turn off during “2-hour warming timer”, however it finally stopped working. This one is good and makes almost as good as coffee as the old one.My only negative issue is that I have it on my countertop under upper cupboards and I have to pull it out and lift up the whole top of the maker to add water and coffee into the filter. Not a show-stopper, but a little inconvenient. Recommend a front-loading maker.I’m definitely a Krups fan! I tried a Hamilton Beach coffee maker right after the old one stopped working, however, the heating element was WAY too hot and the coffee always tasted burnt! I threw it away after a couple of months!

Feature packed value
This is a nice feature-laden coffee maker for the price. I bought it primarily for the dual delay brew time feature since due to my son's college schedule, he has his coffee at a different time on alternate days and now I don't have to program the delay brew each day. I just switch between the two time settings. I like the multitude of other settings it offers, like for brewing just 1-4 cups, keep warm time, and keep warm temp. Just a few quibbles with it. First, the carafe doesn't have a 2 cup line, which would be nice since that's all I typically brew at a time. But after a few uses you can use the metal band towards the bottom to gauge when you've got enough water. Also, the faux brushed aluminum stains fairly easily. One final note, if you've never used a gold cone filter like that supplied, it yields a darker, slightly cloudy brew that will leave some fine sediment at the bottom of your cup. The gold cone filter makes a fuller bodied brew because it lets more of the oils through as well as some sediment. Using a medium-coarse bean grind will reduce the sediment. If you like a lighter cup of coffee, use paper filters with a medium-fine grind instead but do not use one inside of the gold one.

Like the warmer with the adjustable temp
As described. Had previous Krups. Like the warmer with the adjustable temp. Side panels a little weak, ours came with small dent. Makes great coffee.

Do not buy this coffee maker
It makes a good pot of coffee but the display goes dim in less than a year making the clock and any programming features completely useless.
