Lee's Coffee Exclusive Whole Bean Coffee, Double French Roast, 12 Ounce

So what is "double" French roast? Apparently it is not a science. Or a universal standard. Or simple math. This coffee is okay and perhaps the roasters did wait until they heard the so-called second crack.But it does not measure up to what we were expecting.Finding a really strong, authoritative "double" French roast is like trying the find hay in a needle stack as someone put it.Winco Supermarkets sells its house brand double French and that is the benchmark others need to reach. But unless you live in the Pacific Northwest, lotsaluck in finding it. Amazon once carried it but has not in months.So this is an okay coffee, probably stronger than the brown swill that passes for coffee in the U.S. But these roasters should keep the heat on longer and really count to two -- or three.

The aroma from these coffee beans after I grind them up is amazing. It tastes good as is without sugar and/or cream or with condensed milk. I drink it every day.

Lee’s dark double French roast lives up to its reputation. I first had Lees ddF coffee in the Anaheim area at one of his restaurants with same name. I loved the coffee then, as I do now. I am glad it is available online, because it is not available in the desert area of Imperial, California.
