Handy little PoE switch, but Amazon sellers up to shenanigans
The Flex Mini is great—a compact switch that’s quick enough for network-periphery uses and can be run off PoE so there isn’t another wall wart and cable being strung. However, I’m pretty sure the third party seller TeleDirect shipped me an open-box product: the Ubiquiti box was sealed with masking tape over a broken brown-paper seal, and while carefully packed, the Flex Mini’s white casing had a faint dark smudge on top. I love open-box deals myself, but they a) shouldn’t be falsely labeled as new, and b) pose an issue when it comes to security-sensitive network equipment.

Switch while I’m ahead
Needed an extra few ports out of my router, this was the solution to getting extra connections out of the router.

Nice compact size
Nice compact size perfect for behind tv mount and option to power from included power supply or off POE.

Awesome travel switch
UniFi USW-Flex-Mini, AKA, The travel switch you have been dreaming about, while your SO thinks you are thinking about other people, in bed.I have been looking for a switch that I carry in my bag that would be powered off just the USB ports for a while, and my search is finally over. Here is how I tested the Flex Mini.I connected a USB 3A to the Flex Mini’s USB C port and then connected USB3A to my laptop. The switch powered right up. I then connected my laptop, my Home LAN switch, PS4, Pie3, and Nintendo switch to the Flex Mini. Each connected device registered 1gb connection and each speed tested without any issues.Pro's- Light weight- Can be powered off a laptop's USB port, or by POE connection.- ManagedCon's- none that I can see at this pointThis is a solid buy if you need to travel for work. It is Light weight, takes up little t no room in the bag, and it is a managed switch.

Great value for $25, less so for $40, but it's a managed switch!
Normally, before I started buying into the Ubiquiti ecosystem (and have since spent way too much on home networking...20gbit anyone? ugh), if I needed a few extra ports just to connect a few non-essential devices I might just buy a $10-15 switch or go into the office and pluck one from a return cart (KIDDINGGGGG).When Ubiquiti offered a 4-port managed switch that can be ingested into the controller and managed from one location, and offered it for $25, well, that's mind blowing. The fact you can power it with the USB-C power adapter it comes with, OR POE?! Unbelievable! So far it works perfectly. I needed a few extra ports on my desk and the core switch in my home office was maxed out. If you have other stuff to buy at Ubiquiti's store to get the free shipping, definitely get it there for $25. It feels a bit overpriced at about $40 on Amazon. One thing to note, make sure your controller firmware/software is up to date, otherwise the device may not be recognized to be adopted and managed.

Great Expansion & Improves Performance
I really like the Flex Mini from Ubiquiti. Setup is simple, and management is easier with the Unifi software. As someone who runs Unifi on my home network, I like to create custom VLANs, make changes, and monitor traffic.Considering it's a managed switch, the switch knows exactly where to send the data (since it knows which device is connected to which port). In contrast, with an unmanaged switch, the data is duplicated and sent to all ports, so bandwidth is wasted. Thus, this switch is awesome since it is managed!I like how the switch is tiny and POE-powered! However, it did come with a USB C cable. I put it in storage since POE powers my network.

So Easy
I use the Ubiquity WIFI access points and POE switches to power my wired outlets in my house. This guy powers with POE and is very light. Comes with double stick tape. Stuck it to the bottom of the desk and plugged it onto the wall and is just worked. Passed wired Ethernet to all items around the desk. No Clutter or visible wires. I can see it and work with it on my Ubiquity controller along with my access points. Highly recommend this to anyone managing business office environments.

Over priced and not with a UK adaptor
Annoyed I paid more than they were worth. My choice ultimately to purchase.Needed some small UniFi switches to enable VLANs and didn’t want 1 big switch.Mine (I got 2) did not come with UK USB-C adaptors. Thankfully I’ll power these with POE. Ask the seller before you buy.

Delivered with EU plugs
Great product but I’ve had 3 from this seller and all with EU plugs. Not good.

Missing features compared to other Unifi switches
Impressed with size & shape, and I like that it can be powered by PoE. Great throughput too. However this switch does not support SNMP monitoring or custom switch port profiles like other switches in the Unifi line up. It can still be used with VLANs; ports can be assigned either the default ALL profile for a trunk port, or one of the access port profiles that are automatically created when you define a network. Also missing 802.1X, STP, LLDP and Unifi Controllers Experience % measurement thing. And the firmware update also came down via HTTP instead of HTTPS.It's great for the price if you don't need any of this stuff, but I think I should have bought another US-8 instead.

Great little PoE switch
I normally but Netgear switches but all my other LAN hardware is Ubiquiti. This little switch works great and being able to power it via PoE is a big bonus (one less plug!). My rack at home was pretty full so being able to just drop this in with no additional power cables is great and the size is surprisingly small! Bonus is it comes with a type C charger in the box to power it if you don't have a PoE router. Only downside is the cost compared to other small switches which can be had for half the price.P.S. I just found out it can be managed by the unifi controller after adoption for even more functionality and management!

Seamless Unifi Setup
If you have an existing Unifi setup then you know exactly what to expect here, it will integrate easily and show up in your Unifi control panel.I ran a long Ethernet cable from my Unifi Poe switch, then I used this switch hardwire my tv, Apple TV, chromecast, and Xbox one. The Xbox and Apple TV are gigabit, while the tv and chromecast are 100 mbps and this auto assigns port speeds and indicates speed with green and orange port lights. Remember that it receives Poe power but it will not pass it on, so check out the full size flex for that.If you don’t have a unifi setup I think this will work as a basic switch but you should just save the money since you won’t get most of the best features.I hope this review helped!
