These worked perfectly! My daughter wanted a light up costume for Halloween. We attached one strand (blue) to a black hoodie and another (yellow) to black pants. I stitched them on with black thread, her friend used a strand and just used shipping tape to attach- both ways worked great. Each strand has a small battery pack- we stuck them in pockets of hoodie. There is a low humming sound when each battery pack is turned on but if there is any noise around you at all you won’t notice- it would have to be a completely silent room to hear it. The brightness was perfect. Her costume was a hit. Kids have now used strands to decorate their rooms. Definitely recommend!

These are great EL wires. Solid connections and good light through the length of the wire. Great long length. The battery packs produce a slight buzzing sound so pet might not like their new costume -- keep that in mind -- but all these LED small scale products seem to do the same thing.

Did the job. Instructions would have been nice. Slight buzzing sound from the battery packs was annoying.

I bought these specifically so I could make a glow in the dark stickman costume like the ones you see online. The wire comes rolled up so it's difficult to get it to lay flat/straight. I used safety pins to "fix" the wires to my clothing. It worked well enough for me. The wires are bright, much brighter than buying the glow sticks from the dollar store and taping them together to make a stick man. I got several compliments about my costume!

I bought this product to use as accent lighting for a miniature photography set. I photograph miniature figures and I thought I would try to add little bits of lighting to the background of my sets using these string lights. I can't believe I spent $25 on these. That's not very much money for me, but these aren't worth a penny or your time.They are not bright at all. You can barely see that they are illuminated in a dimly lit room. I don't know how the people in the demo photographs are lit up so well. I can not imagine integrating these into a costume or an outfit to wear to a music festival or convention. I doubt you'd be able to see the lights at all in anything but complete darkness.These lights would probably be brighter if the controller wasn't wasting a ton of energy outputting a very annoying high-pitch whine. I tested each light strand as well as tried swapping different batteries--each time, same result. The control boxes produce a high pitch noise. They also start getting warm after a while of being turned on. I doubt they'll get hot enough to be dangerous, but I'd be concerned about battery life. Lights like these shouldn't be getting hot, and they definitely shouldn't be making noise. That's a sign that it's wasting energy doing something you don't want it to do which drains the battery unnecessarily.I probably won't even bother returning these. They're just going straight in the garbage. I wasted my time and money with these. Don't be like me.

If you are going to make the effort to create a costume or outfit... Spend more money for better quality. The el wire is very temperamental and shorts out very easy. Lights are bright and easy to use. They look nice but are very fragile.

I haven’t used them yet in my photoshoot but all of the four worked. They are very bright and the length doesn’t seem to short as I was afraid of. But they do buzz, so if that is a problem for you should think it twice. One of the battery cages was a little broken but it still works.

Works well for little details. Not SUPER bright, but is visible. Like all EL Wire, the device does emit a "whine" sound if you listen close. However, if you are wearing this on a costume at a festival or anywhere there is some ambient noise you will not notice it. My wire has been bent and glued all over and it is still holding up!
