Huge pockets
First? If you are actually using these pants in combat conditions, if you actually use magazine pouches for magazines and not your cellphone and 110 punchdown tool, stop reading now. Nothing I say will be useful to you. But, if you are like me and just enjoy a slightly socially inappropriate tactical look while having a convenient place to store your gadgets and tools, read on.Unlike the tactical 5.11 pants, I can fit my kindle /with/ the cover that has the reading light in the cargo pocket and still close said pocket. For me? This is huge. I'm catching up on my cyberpunk, and it's pretty great to be able to whip out some Rudy Rucker whenever I'm in line. The cellphone pockets, though, are a little small on these pants (the cellphone pocket on the 5.11 pants is exactly right..) - but they are usable with my samsung galaxy slide and personally, I like the 5.11 back pockets better than the back pockets on these pants. The back pockets on these pants, besides being smaller, have a velcro flap. Considering that I'm very rarely in a position where something in my back pockets might actually fall out, the flaps are unnecessary. That, and with my 5.11 pants, the back pockets are huge and make super convenient 'dump bags' - When I'm at the co-lo racking up new servers, every single ethernet cord comes in it's own plastic bag and it's own two twist ties. I can't just set it down; it's so windy that I'd spend all afternoon chasing it around. So I just stuff the garbage in my back pocket. .With these pants, I have to get the flap out of the way, and then the pockets themselves are just way smaller than on the 5.11 pants.Overall, though, I think it is a four point five stars. Maybe I'll hack off the flaps on the back pockets and see how that works.

Best 100% Cotton Tactical Pants w/ only a Two Gripes
I have purchased 6 pairs (5 khaki, 1 black) of these pants over the last 2 year and are my daily wear pants. These are hands down the best 100% cotton tactical cargo pants I have worn since Blackhawk discontinued their "Performance Cotton Pants".Use case is mostly in machine shop work so I often carry random assortment of tools, cutters, blades, and fasteners at any given time. Eye and ear protection easily fit into the thigh pockets and hand tools like pliers or wrenches slip into the seat pockets and don't tear or slip out when I crouch down. I use a 1/4" quick-link chain on the font belt loops to hang tools from and they have never pulled out.I wouldn't mind seeing snaps instead of Velcro on the thigh pockets, but that would just be a bonus to how well these pants work.I only have two major gripes about these pants.1: The lack of a crotch gusset really hurts these pants. I have to stoop and crouch often and the crotch seam was the failure of my first pair. I've tried the Assent and the cut, feel of the fabric, and placement of pockets never worked for me.2. The knife pockets on the hips between the front and seat pocket have no bellows at the bottom. Thicker blades such as folding utility knifes or Swiss army knifes strain the fabric at the the bottom of the pocket and have worn through on all but my most recent pair. I have had to sew up the bottom and shorten the depth on the failed pockets to make them functional.

Maybe the best pants ever
These pants are just the right fit, extremely comfortable and look good. The pockets are roomy. I can't figure out why more cargo pants are not available. They are my favorite pants and perhaps the best pants ever.

Faded at the first washing and the pockets are not as useful as they could be
I have been using these pants almost daily for about a month and I am not having any premature wear or significant shrinkage so far. The side bellows pockets are able to expand in the right way to carry gear and the back pockets will easily accommodate a man-sized wallet stuffed with receipts and papers. The cargo and back pockets all close securely. The belt loops are wide and show no signs of failure to date. The material is soft and flexible enough to not get in your way while working. The two knife pockets are well located and reinforced at the top of the opening to support your knife clips. There are several downsides to the design of the pants, though. The cargo pockets have an outer and two interior pouches that are too small for anything you would want to stash in them. This leaves everything flopping and banging around as you move and can make the pants very uncomfortable to wear the entire day.The front slash pockets have adequately sized openings, but can be hard to use with work gloves on. These are also disappointingly shallow and usually feel cramped while still forcing you to worry about things falling out as you bend and stoop. The two knife pockets are far too narrow for anything useful. They will not accommodate anything bigger than a small folding knife. Carrying wrenches, multi-tools, flashlights, and the such is far beyond there capacity. I am left to wonder just what the designers were thinking people were going to use these worthless pockets for.The back pockets, while side bellowing (as they should be), are not deep enough to hold a truckers wallet, tally book, or a functional notebook. And that is the one thing that is wrong with these pants overall . All of the pockets on these pants are wrong. There has been no real consideration of what people who buy these pants are going to do with them. They all need to bigger, deeper, and the inner and outer slots greatly expanded. In general, I like these pants. The build quality and material seem to be quite good. The fit and finish is also good and I expect these to hold up for months to come. But I will be looking to replace them as soon as someone makes a similar product with functional pockets.

As durable as 5.11 for daily wear
This is my 2nd pair. would have given 5 stars, but this model did not have drop in phone pocket behind cargo like 1st pair. Held up just as well as my 5.11's for daily wear.

Very good. Zero complaints
I work outside, I climb towers, get into basements, attics, all sorts of spaces and these provided the fit and flexibility to do it all comfortably. Light enough to help with the 30c plus temps but heavy enough to take the grief my job gives. Waist band has elastic belt inside, which is awesome, keeps them tight enough so my tool belt or harness doesn't pull them down, but I don't end up with a belt mark on my waist. No complaints at all.

Good fit, well built
These pants served me very well. In fact I'm probably going to buy a couple more pairs in the near future. The only complaint I have, preventing a 5 star rating, is the fact that the colours bleed out very quickly.
