A Helpful Guide to Mentoring Relationships "Melissa Kruger helps both the mentor and the mentee know where to start, what to cover, and how to make it work so that the mentoring relationship is a source of joy and growth for everyone involved.” ― Nancy Guthrie , Bible teacher; author, Even Better than Eden: Nine Ways the Bible’s Story Changes Everything about Your Story We need one another. Yet we don’t always know how to develop relationships that help us grow in the Christian life. Spiritual mentoring offers a way for younger believers and more mature Christians to grow together through intentional discipleship and accountability. If you’re looking for a place to start, Melissa Kruger presents a guide for discipleship conversations that span a variety of topics for spiritual growth. Each lesson encourages both mentor and mentee to focus on the hope of the gospel as they learn together from the truth of God’s word. Published in partnership with the Gospel Coalition. Includes 11 lessons that women can use in a variety of schedules and life stages Each chapter teaches what the Bible says about the topic, explores why we struggle to follow God’s teaching, and considers how we should live in light of the truth Features activities and questions for before, during, and after the sessions Concludes with an appendix with further reading on each topic outlined in the lessons Review: Growing together in faith and as a mentor - Very thought provoking, and provided many helpful ideas or suggestions to help me grow in my faith as well as to become a,mentor. Highly Recommend for Small Groups
My discipleship group at church is using this book for our Bible study. Although this book was designed for a mature Christian woman mentoring a younger Christian woman, we are able to enjoy it as a group of four women that are all around the same age and stage in our spiritual walk. There are many scripture references in each chapter, and the entire book is scripture-based and not the 'self-help' style that is so popular nowadays where there is very little that draws from scripture. We have been choosing one to use as a memory verse each week. The book is very insightful; the author presents gospel truths well. The questions at the end of the chapter are just right for a small group, helping us get to know each other better while encouraging us to address things in our spiritual walk that need attention. I have underlined and circled something on pretty much every page. Highly recommend this book for small groups.

Great Mentoring Resource
Such a wonderful resource. I went through this book with another woman. The questions at the end of each chapter helped to facilitate discussion and caused me to reflect on my own walk with the Lord. Would recommend for a mentoring relationship.

Lots of ideas
If you are looking to disciple/mentor someone, this can be a good place to start. This book will give lots of ideas on how to begin a mentoring relationship and what those meeting times can look like, topics to be sure to cover, etc. This is a good starting place if you're unsure where to begin.

A great mentoring resource for women's ministry leaders!
As a mentor to women's ministry leaders, I highly recommend Growing Together. Melissa provides the framework and content for women's ministry teams to easily and quickly launch a mentoring ministry. Melissa uses the first two chapters of Growing Together to unpack what mentoring can be as well as setting expectations for the mentor/mentee. Ground rules are a good thing! The remaining nine chapters walk mentors/mentees through important topics, some not often talked about in women’s ministry, such as church attendance and service. Melissa anchors the content of each chapter in God’s Word, sprinkling in applicable real-life examples. I found the chapters to be just the right length. While each chapter could entail an entire book (and as noted in the Recommended Reading in the appendix, there are whole books on these topics), Melissa manages to go just deep enough in the short space of a chapter for participants to have a hearty discussion on the subject. Melissa's book will help remove the excuses so many mentors offer up by providing them with content and discussion questions to use during their meetings. Decent
A fair mentoring book, but I do prefer Susan Hunt’s Spiritual Mothering: The Titus 2 Model for Women Mentoring Women.
