Large Hourglass Timer 60 Minute, Decorative Black Frame Sandglass with White Sand

The media could not be loaded.  What a great way to showcase your vacation memories. Bought for my son for Arizona sand from a trip when he was a kid saved in a water bottle for two decades and now I’m getting one for me. Beautifully crafted. Easy to fill. It’s hardly an hour glass runs for about 5 minutes but a beautiful piece.

I didnt time it to the minute but it is generally on target to 60 minutes. I keep being distracted and don't see it finish, but this is a great timer, decor piece, and conversation item. The sand is quiet and i see little evidence of it 'sticking'. I bought 3 hourglasses and this is the one I kept because of its functionality and look.

This is a well made product except the four rods on the sides are a little tricky. You have to position them so that the nuts on the top and bottom have enough of the thread on the rods to correctly attach. Once we did this, it worked perfectly.It would help if it had a funnel, but we were able to find one to fit.My daughter and son-in-love used this as part of the unity activity during their wedding ceremony.

Decent hourglass, looks ok, mine had arrived not screwed together and scuffed up so it went back but as far as construction the top and bottom are made of a pressboard the supports are metal and the hourglass is in fact glass. The time variance on the one I received was +1.5 minutes, so pretty good in that respect.

I decided it was time for my 3 kids to have some of their dad's ashes. I had thought of the hourglass idea years ago and finally was ready to execute. After reading some of the reviews I went with this one since others had used it for the same purpose.Pointers if you're wanting to use this for the same purpose - it helps to have 2 people. And after the first try (using a tiny funnel) wasn't going so well I used a sifter to separate the finer ashes. This helps tremendously. You will still need a toothpick to help push the ashes through the funnel but the sifter was a game changer. Doing all 3 hourglasses took around an hour. All worth it. I know this gift will mean the world to the kids.

It looks inexpensive. The frame is made of some type of metal. The red sand is a lighter color than I wanted. I was looking for a darker color, a true red. But the worst part is it does not work. I have to shake it every 10 minutes or so to make the sand continue to fall through. It’s been sitting for 3 day with ¼ of the sand in top and ¾ of sand in bottom.

I used this for my brother's ashes, was a little hard to fill but with determination we got it done!

I purchased this as a better way to honor my daughter. Yes, those are her ashes added with color flakes. It wasn’t too difficult getting the ashes in it, just time consuming - but to me it’s worth it.
