Global Communication

I am using some chapters to be part of my post graduate theory class. Useful for them to know the development of theories in global communication to be part of theory development in mass communication

I am using this book extensively for my classes in international communication and global public relations. Dr.Hamelink presents a comprehensive and accurate picture of the global communication processes and environment that makes it easier to connect technologies and human communication.

Is an OK BOOKTHE VIDEOS ARE VERY HELPFULL

I enjoyed reading this book tremendously. I read it with a question in mind ( "How to communicate a message to a world society?") and each chapter added a new piece to this puzzle. The book is well researched with vivid examples and many references, so the books helps as a starting point to look deeper into aspects such as the history of communication, flows of global content, culture and communication, the infrastructure of communication and future issues regarding the politics of global communication and cyberspace. Since Professor Hamelink also drafted documents such as the "The People's Communication Charter" and the "Declaration of the Right to Communicate", one can tell how he has been wrestling with many of these questions in depth. With modesty and an open mind, he gives the reader a great tour through this field of fascinating thoughts and invites the reader to reflect on issues themselves.
