Keyless Entry. Easy install! Looks great! Works great!
We had a battery operated door lock we had that actually unlocked the door when you put in the code suddenly quit working? We checked around with a locksmith to see if ut could be fixed. Nope. He advised us to look at the door locks that you put in your code and then you turn the door lock. Lots less to go wrong with these door locks. So we bought the same brand door lock but not the fully automatic. We got the semi automatic I guess you could say! It was super easy to install. The it fit exactly where our old had been. So we didn’t need to drill any new holes. And it is just as easy to use! Push the Schlage button, enter your code, turn the deadbolt, open the door!

Safety at an Affordable Price
This Schlage keypad deadbolt gives me peace of mind without breaking the bank. Installation was straightforward, and the keypad makes it so convenient—no more fumbling for keys. The build feels strong and secure, and the design looks great on the door. Excellent balance of safety, quality, and affordability. Highly recommend!

Great design.
These are awesome. Using the batteries to validate and human power to turn the knob is pure genius especially in cold climates where the batteries would otherwise get weak quickly.

Don't buy from Amazon, buy it in person.
The wife and I just bought a house that already had this lock on the front door. Being unfamiliar with the lifespan of the lock and with an unknown number of copied keys out in the wild I ordered the same one off Amazon (none in stock locally) with Amazon as the seller. Red flag #1: The lock arrived in my mailbox, as it should. However, it arrived in the manufacturer's box without a lick of tape on it anywhere (I'm guessing whomever picked it off the Amazon Warehouse shelf just slapped a shipping label on it and called it good) and the large flap was open. Red flag #2: I finish opening the open box and remove the lock assembly. Parts immediately fall off the thing. Red flag #3: While there is a Quick Installation Guide, there is no user manual (but there should be because the previous owners left the manual that came with their lock with the house). So now there is a manual out in the wild (but probably trashed) that has the access and programming codes on it. Since this is a like-kind replacement, installation should be easy right? It actually is, just a handful of screws. 20 minute job. But once the replacement is complete, I test the lock and the lock refuses to engage from the outside. I pull the new lock off and put the old lock back on. Works just fine. Old lock off, new one on, again no dice. I spend the next couple of hours head scratching and exploring. The following is what I discovered: Normally the locking mechanism spins freely. Punch in the code, a little solenoid engages a ratchet mechanism for ~30 seconds, the locking mechanism turns the deadbolt. However, on the new lock the solenoid appears to engage (I see the things move that should move, although the motion is a heck of a lot rougher on the new lock than the old one) but the locking mechanism continues to just spin freely. No amount of poking, prodding, or persuasion could get the ratchet to engage the lock. This is where my situation will differ from most: Since this is a like kind replacement, I just remove the key/cylinder from the new lock and put it in the old lock. So back together with the old lock for the umpteenth time, but with the key/cylinder. Works like a charm. I punch in the programming code, delete all the existing door codes, make a new door code, test it all works as desired and then walk away. No wild keys. No wild codes. In any other situation I would be asking for a replacement. However, since I ended up using the key & cylinder from the new lock I wouldn't feel right sending back. Besides, a new key & cylinder and a couple hours of locksmith labor would probably end up as much as the cost of the replacement lock or more. TL;DR -Shame on Amazon for lousy shipping procedure QC (everything else arrives double boxed with 18 wraps of bubble wrap). -Shame on Schlage, one of, if not the, biggest names in the lock industry for the product QC.

Great locks, poor packaging
Great locks, work great. Packaging and and shipping leave a little to be desired. Product boxes are not taped or sealed shut, likely to open during shipping. We order regularly and quite often parts are loose from box. Schlage could make a better box or put a sticker on to keep box closed.

I have too many of these!
I love these locks. Super easy to install if you are even a little bit handy and can follow instructions. You can change codes very easy. I am a contractor and put these on almost all my customers homes. Very secure and the only down side is if you leave the battery that is low and warning you to change it, and you don't change it, you will then have to use the key that comes with it to get access. Takes a 9 volt battery that lasts for years I have found. Battery is very easy to change and like I said, it will warn you when it is getting low. I used it once for 3-4 months on low battery before it stopped working every time. Highly recommend.

LOVE THESE KEYPAD DEADBOLTS
Have been using these keypad deadbolts for over 12 years and installed them on over six homes. I have one that is on an entry door that is exposed to western sun and occasional rain and it still continues to work. These are a heavy-duty grade deadbolt in addition to the keypad. I like that you can quickly program four digit codes and remove them just as quickly. These deadbolts come in handy especially when having a house sitter or workers coming and going from your property. Love not having to carry any keys when leaving the house for a walk or going to work. I have no interest in the newer locks that use your phone to operate. What if I lose my phone or leave it somewhere? I also like this deadbolt because it is manually operated by simply twisting the knob to open or lock it. The powered deadbolts go through batteries a lot faster and with this manual knob, you can feel it and be sure it locks. The key option is something I never had to use but is a nice feature if you're new to these and feel comfortable having that option. One 9 volt battery lasts me from 3 to 5 years and this unit will you a warning when it's time to replace.

Vastly superior to Weiser. Buy these.
These locks are brilliant - different - but brilliant. After wanting to throw about 5 Weiser keypad locks through the window (after years of use), I decided to try Schlage. They are vastly superior in almost every way. Let's address the "almost" part first. Opening and closing is a two step process. Push the button, turn the handle to lock. Type the code, turn the handle to unlock. No biggie, but if you're used to Weiser, this might seem less convenient. It is, but the tradeoffs are entirely worth it. 1) The Schlage is simply more secure. Heavier duty and the lock design is far superior. I can't imagine the frustration of attempting to pick a spinning lock with a clutch. 2) There is no powered motor to burn out. Sure turning the handle is inconvenient, but the Weiser motors constantly burn out, and it's very easy to not realize the door hasn't locked. This way, you feel when it's locked properly. 3) The programming is far superior, faster and more reliable. 4) The installation is insanely easy. Sure, it's only a one-time pain, but I returned about half the Weiser locks I bought due to installation issues and defects during installation or programming. 5) No ugly plastic housing. 6) 9V battery that doesn't power a motor will last for years. 7) Low battery indicator. 8) I love these. 9) I am quite literally going to uninstall even my working Weisers to replace them with these. Just ordered another one.

WHY did we not do this sooner?
UPDATE: Six months later, and not only do we still love them, we are STILL talking about them and showing them off to everyone, as we rave about them. I even wander down the lock aisle at the big box stores and giggle when I see them for $150-$229. Yes, it is the exact same lock! Black Friday was the push to finally buy these...couldn't pass up such a good deal; they are completely worth it. First, of note, there is only a single key. No issue for me as I took all three to the locksmith and for $15 got them all keyed identically, with two spare keys thrown in, all for $15. Just makes life so much easier when the same key works for all the locks (in case of failure). Oh, and the locksmith not only recommended this lock, but retailed them for just under $250. These are rated a couple of steps above basic home locks, NOT the absolute best money can buy, but then you would be looking at double the price and more for more commercial grade locks. Install was simple and straight forward, took less than 15 minutes from finding the tools to putting them back, all in. I specifically got the one with the thumb turn and no auto lock; I prefer the manual aspect - in the event there were a failure, I would not want to be merrily ignorant and unintentionally leaving my doors unlocked. First thing to do is to reset password, seriously, according to my locksmith most folks skip this step. Operation is simple. Upon departing, punch in code, turn knob to left to engage lock. Upon arrival, punch in code, turn knob to right to disengage. Locking knob free spins until code is punched in, an added feature that makes forced entry that much more difficult, and extends battery life as they are not powering the tumbler, to electronically engage or disengage the deadbolt (again, according to my locksmith). Keypad is backlit, super handy in the dark. My only complaint is that they are a bit on the bulky side, aesthetically. That said, I am sure if I wanted to pay double or triple the price, this minor issue could be addressed; I am not. If you think the time is right to upgrade or replace your locks, I would highly recommend this model for cost, functionality and ease of use. But do consider visiting the locksmith first so you can have all your locks keyed identically (note: not all locks will match the pin configuration, if retaining old locks, stick to the same brand as this, or double check that rekeying is an option) - minor cost for huge convenience. Honestly, I have not availed myself of some of the higher grade features (guest codes etc.), and cannot comment on battery, but so far, we are thrilled with this upgrade, especially when arriving home with armloads of groceries.

My go-to electronic deadbolt, for a variety of reasons
After many years of trying out different electronic deadlock types, I've settled on this model and I've bought a number of them over the years. Past lock types have had issues with cold weather, premature battery death, and difficulty closing or opening if the door frame or door hinges shift over time. The best feature of this specific lock is that the lock ONLY engages the lock handle, and does not drive the deadbolt itself (you turn the handle and lock or unlock the door yourself). That means a couple of things: one, if the doorframe or hinge or whatever (e.g., new weatherstripping) makes it difficult to line up the bolt perfectly, you don't have to worry about the motor being unable to close or open the bolt. Second, because the lock only consumes electricity for the lighted buttons and the engaging/disengaging of the lock handle, the battery lasts a very, very long time. In my experience, it can last for a couple of years without needing battery replacement. BEAR IN MIND: if you need an electronic deadbolt that automatically locks the door for you after a set time, THIS IS NOT THE LOCK FOR YOU. Note that this lock uses a 9volt battery (included) and the design of the housing is a little wide, so be certain to measure carefully before considering this style.

It looks great and durable.
It's been 3 months after the lock got installed. The lock it self is very impressive. It's not smart lock but it is smart enough to simply work as a digital lock. Straight forward installation. Buy make sure your doors hole is not smaller than the lock because it will not fix. You have to widen it but if its bigger there are included adaptor/accessories the make the adjustments. I recommend this lock 100%.
