Skar Audio SK8MB 8" 2-Way Marine Full Range 500 Watt Coaxial Speakers, Pair (Black)

I’ve head their 6-½” before and loved them. This time around we went with 4 of the 8” connected to their 4way 1,000W marine amp and the results are unbelievable. If you take your time to PROPERLY tune the amplifier, these speakers insanely loud and perfectly clear. Their great bass eliminates the need for a sub woofer and their highs can make you loose your hearing … After installing and tuning everything, it is humanly impossible to be in or near the boat once the volume is around 50% Even at such insanely loud volume the sound is still one hundred percent distortion free !

I usually don't write reviews but I couldnt find what if they would fit in the JL 8.8 cutout. These will fit in the JL 8.8 cutouts but they are close screw hole wise. The screw holes are close to 8.8 edge but work fine as long as your hole isn't a butcher job. Are they JL sound and bass quality of the 8.8s no, absolutely not. But do they sound great especially for the money. Audio was clear even at high volume but lacking that JL bass and start to distort a a much lower volume than the 8.8 at same amp settings. Took some bass out and they are lound and clear. Seem well made but time will tell how long they last in the salt and boat environment.

Great speakers for Boom Box builds, have lots of low end grunt/bass, clear mids. These are great quality heavy speakers. Would use them more in Boom Box builds if it weren't for the price

I have four of these on a Yamaha ATV they have been underwater in the mud you name it and they are still playing and still sound good

I made some under door panels for them to go in !!

Great sound quality

I used these in my 1967 Buick Electra. They fit with some trimming of the car's mounting rings in the kick panels. I liked the weather-resistant qualities. Sounds great.

I put these in because my Rockford Fosgates finally bit the dust and spending 350 on inside speakers seemed a little steep. I received these in one day, took them to the coast and enjoyed them as much or more than the ones I replaced. Thanks for producing quality at a price most can afford. They look terrific as well. Install was a snap.

These are super loud. Installed 4 in the boat and I’m more than happy. Use to use an JBL party box 310 that’s rated at 250rms and these are at least 2x louder. Decent bass as well. Amp tuning is important with them. Any speaker will pop if your gains are too high. Took me about half an hour to get them just right. They are 125 rms each, some people here think they are 250 rms each but if you read the description it says 250 rms (pair). Pretty obvious.. great value!
