SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES THE SINGLES - TWICE UPON A TIME

Another Greatest Hits compilation, Siouxsie?
I've wondered the "why" another singles album. this is to continue where "Once Upon A Time - The Singles" left off and into their genre shift. IMHO it's worth getting this comp if you got a taste of "Once Upon A Time - The Singles" and are a diehard fan of Siouxsie

Punk, Rock, Gothic Romaticism, now there's a label for ya
I hate to label Siouxsie and the Banshees as anything, but if you happen to be stumbling across Siouxsie for the first time, you would get a punk rock gothic romanticism feeling from it, but it can adapt with you, just as Siouxsie and the Banshees adapted to rock over the years. If you are stumbling across them this group for the first time, this is a pleasant place to take the plunge. You will get the entire scope of Siouxsie and the Banshees are about, the greatest hits album is fine and dandy as well, but I think that this gives you a better variety, and from here your can either pick up their earlier releases or later releases depedning on how you feel. The music is rock solid. the lyrics are up to you to interpret, remember when that's what poetry and literature were about - interpretation. Yes, you can still find that here. So get ready to bang your little head and dance about to musicthat meant something and took time to create.

good compilation of material 1982 and on
I personally think they hit their peak with Kaleidoscope and Juju. A newcomer should first get Once Upon a Time, then go for The Scream, Kaleidoscope, and Juju. Those albums are great. Their later albums all had good stuff (OK, I don't know the last couple - the last one I have is Tinderbox), but they are spotty. A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is very good, but it's out of print!!!! MOST (not all of course) of the best songs from this period are on this CD. Yes, there are omissions, but that's how compilations are! This also has a couple of non-album singles (as does Once Upon a Time).

Terrific GH from the Queen of Romantic Goth!
I'm usually very picky about GH albums. You know, they typically leave off some great songs that should be included and instead throw in obscure B-sides. This album has all the great hits of Siouxsie & The Banshees. I picked up a copy for a friend's birthday. I own all the albums and give this GH compilation a thumbs up! My favorite album is "Through The Looking Glass." You cannot miss with this greatest cd. Siouxsie has an incredible voice and they did an excellent job with track listing. You can truly hear the progression in their songwriting and musical ability over the years.

Classic punk/new wave collection
I bought her lps back in the day. Wow. A trip down memory lane. And I find I like her more today...hear new things in her music. So talented...compared the [...] on the radio and in the cd racks. Good pedigree too as connected to Sex Pistols and the Cure. If you like good English rock/punk with original vocals, start here!
