So realistic, have not seen any hungry herons since having the decoy.

It may or may not fool another Heron, but it fooled my neighbor who came to me in a panic. She was afraid the heron was back and going to eat the rest of my fish! I had to show her that it was fake. So far so good, the real Heron has not been back.

Looks real to humans but a live Blue Heron couldn’t care less. It still visits our pond.

I hate to be negative but this item is so cheaply made we didn't even take it all the way out of the box. It absolutely does not look believable at all. Maybe from a distance it would work if you want a decoy, but up close... like on a patio.... it isn't a quality piece. The colors were off for a heron..... and as I mentioned we didn't even put it out so I can't speak to functionality. Although looking at it we were not confident in its functionality.

There is no doubt that this is a beautiful lifelike decoy. I catch myself doing a double take when I look out to the pond. If you want it for show, it's unbelievably realistic - if you're hoping it will scare away other herons, it will not. I've only had it since yesterday, and I'm still running outside to chase away the big blues. I had one standing just 5 ft from this one with zero regard. Hopefully, the swans will do the trick, they're on the way. ::fingers crossed

It didn't work at all to keep our Blue Heron away. It advertised to keep Blue Heron away from the pond.
