Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Disc - PlayStation 4

We bought the first episode on the Wii U, but at the time I wasn't sure if they would ever complete it so I didn't buy any more. At first there were only going to be 5 episodes, but they did 3 more for a total of 8. Even after I was sure the 5 episodes were coming out for the Wii U, I wasn't sure they'd do the other 3 episodes. In fact, I don't think the final 3 episodes are available in the eShop yet but only on this disk! The gameplay is boring to an Adult, but kids love it. It's kinda a mix of a choose your own adventure, an adventure game, and a mini-game collection. It's all of these things, but none of these things are very complicated. The choose your own adventure part never lets the story go in a wildly different direction, but you can make choices that affect small aspects of the story later. The adventure game isn't much more than finding everything you can pick up and then sometimes using what you picked up. The mini games are often nothing more than a quicktime event. There isn't enough game for me to really get into this, so I was surprised by how much my kids love this! It's more of an interactive story, but my kids like Minecraft so much that they really like this. The story is great. I really like a fun story in the Minecraft world because it has encouraged my kids to not just dink around in the regular Minecraft but to make a bit of their own story! The first four episodes are a single story arc. All the episodes after that have continuing story from episode to episode but are much more episodic. The graphics are great. I hear they built everything in Minecraft and then imported the graphics into Telltale's game engine. My kids have now built some things from this game in Minecraft! If you don't mind the blocky Minecraft style, everything looks very good. It's a little bit buggy, but all the Teltale games are. I'm sure they'll patch things out some but that it will always be a little buggy. Load times are a bit long, but not too bad. My game works fine and is not defective. I'm sorry to hear that some are getting a bad game because I think Amazon's policy is that you can only return a bad game and not exchange it for another copy. I'm sure at some point that people tried to run a scam where they would exchange games they said were bad to get more DLC codes. People like that cause Amazon to make policy that's worse for everyone who isn't scamming Amazon and sadly applies even to games that don't have codes in the box. In the end, my kids are loving this. I really suggest it. I think it's fine to play it on the Wii U. But it's the same game whether you play on the Wii U or some other platform. If your kids like minecraft, they'll love this.

This will be a Christmas gift for my son, I am sure he will love it. Will update after Christmas. Update OK so now it is after Christmas and I am furious as to find out what I paid for, which is just 1 episode and have to download 4 other episodes. Downloading these episodes is not such a big deal but should have been on the disc. Now my other problem is so far only episode 2-3 are available for free. You do have to pay for episode 4 and 5 what the hell kind of crap is this. I did read somewhere on these reviews a customer stated all episodes are free well that is a lie don't beleave them I can tell you episode 4 is available but they want you to purchase it BS this is a RIPOFF. If anything changes I will update. Update 1/26/16 I have saved e-mails as proof this company the maker of the game and Microsoft state they are working on a fix however one is still not available. They are hoping for a fix by 2-1-16 well then what? This should be illegal WTF is going on. All this is not any fault of Amazon but now that Amazon knows of this issue they should entitle a caution when people make this particular game purchase. Anyway if you are looking to purchase this game hold off till they fix the problem or you will be purchasing the game for the price it is being sold for plus a $5.00 fee for the other episodes that's lets see Game at Amazon cost $25.00 each episode is %.00 the episodes to download are 2,3,4 and 5 that's a grand total of $45.00 plus tax for a game that don't work 100%. Hope I have helped anyone interested in this nightmare. I will come back with an update once they have a fix for all the problems..... On the plus side my son loves the game it only has episode one installed on the disc, I personally think this game sucks it is so dumb but the kids love it. The regular Mine craft is awesome bottom line don't spend your money on this junk. UPDATE:8/14/2016 Came back here to update everyone all problems have been resolved by Microsoft and the game maker works perfect also at this time new episodes are becoming available episodes 7-10 my kids play this all day great game keeps them imagining many scenario.

Great ep 1 but ep 2 3 4 5 needs ps4+ that is 80 us bucks for 1 year good but 80 bucks more

5 year old grandson loves Minecraft and enjoys playing this game

I played this when episode 1-5 were free, and I purchased episodes 6-8. Meow that TellTale is out of business, I had to purchase this disc thinking I would get episodes 1-5, however I found out I meow only have access to episodes 1, and 6-8, seeing how Xbox doesn’t sell 1-5 any more. Very frustrating.

My son really enjoyed playing episode 1, but he finished it in a few hours. So since you are supposed to be able to download episodes 2-5 for free as they become available via Xbox Live since this is the Season Pass Disc we went to download the remaining available episodes. Episodes 2-4 show as "purchased, but not downloaded," however they won't download without re-purchasing for $4.99 each! I went to Telltale Games support center and this problem is listed as "fixed" but it IS NOT FIXED!!!!! Yes, we have tried removed the disc, powered off, disconnected the power cord and then restarted. Yes we have removed the updates as well. Nothing has worked. The game recognizes episodes 2-4 as "purchased but not downloaded," but when we try to download the only option we have is the $4.99 "purchase" and there is the warning not to do this if you have the "Season Pass" version which we do have. The first time at least episode 3 said the price was $0.00. We tried downloading that one, thinking it would jog something lose, metaphorically speaking. It did not. Espisodes 2 & 4 still couldn't download without paying $4.99. We deleted the Episode 3 download and tried again. Now all 3 episodes (2-4) are only available for purchase, although all 4 (including 5) are listed on the menu as "purchased. but not downloaded." This has been the most frustrating gaming experience ever. I have devoted hours trying to resolve this for my son to no avail. Yes I have tried to contact Telltale Games. Unless you want an unhappy child and hours of grief I would avoid this game until and unless they resolve this issues. I will happily update my review should that happen. Otherwise, anyone else thinking class action lawsuit here? I know I am!

This is a nice game for kids to play. It's more of an interactive story to watch then game play. The game play is simple for little kids to play as well.
