Thrush Muffler Mellow Performance Tone Inlet 3 Pipe Connection Offset Outlet 3 Center

My application is a 454 in a 75 Nova. Dual exhaust, H pipe.The previous muffler setup was just too loud for the neighbors. It had a brutal drone.This setup (in my application) is definitely NOT a quiet stock type of sound. However, it did knock down the volume quite a bit. There is still a drone at ~1100 RPM and it seems quite loud... but it transitions out of this at highway RPMs. On the highway, I can hear the tires now, and I can have a normal conversation. If I had to describe it very simply, I would say that this is halfway between a quiet stock muffler and a 'straight through' super loud performance set up. I definitely did not notice any difference in performance. It doesn't seem restrictive or cause any problems vs. the straight through loud muffler set up. The 3" version I purchased allows the 3" pipe to slide in perfectly- which is awesome. It was really awesome that I did not have to wrestle the pipes into the muffler. I would strongly recommend this muffler as a great value.

Worked fine for me. 1969 C10 427 bb 4l80E. Exits just behind the muffler in front of the rear axle. Nice sound. Quite a bit quieter than the Summit 2 chamber mufflers. Just what I was looking for.

Nice bark without the harshness of welded mufflers. I actually replaced a set of Flowmaster Delta 40’s with these Thrush mufflers on my rat rod. The pipes exit by the doors and the 40’s were just annoying at cruising speed. These particular thrush mufflers are for 3” exhaust pipe and do neck down to 2-1/2” inside but on a car like mine ultimate flow was not my concern and honestly I didn’t notice any power loss though I’m sure you’d see some on a Dyno.Good quality. They are made by Tenneco which also makes Dynomax and Cherry Bomb.

This muffler is a lot of hush! I've ran my truck for 15 years with glass packs single chamber, dual chamber, dual exhaust, single exhaust, no muffler, and stock mufflers. This one in particular is fairly quiet but has a decent sound when on heavy throttle. Not a lot of highway drone as well, and there wont be that popping backfire noise when letting off the throttle. I like the sound of this one currently as I have been doing more highway miles lately. Running on a 95 F150 with 5.8L V8.

Used on a BMW E46 325ci with a 2.5 Inline 6 and custom turbo setup. I was running open downpipe for 3 months and started to get horrible headaches and always feel like I was paranoid/"on the edge of my seat". This muffler completely stopped the annoying open downpipe, was so quiet that I found an exhaust leak in my headers, and was small enough to fit perfectly in the chassis. P.S. Use stainless wire and stainless tube to make your exhaust. This thing looks great with the proper exhaust.TL;DR: The car now sounds like a mix between a B58, 2JZ, RB25, and an old Chevy/Dodge Slant 6. Very good tone, is not too loud, welds to stainless pipe well, and doesn't corrode almost at all. Slight drone at highway speed without a resonator, but not bad at all.Minor update: Bought another muffler for another project and it somehow blew up under normal operation? The entire side bulged out and blew the contents all over the highway. Most likely manufacturer defect or something internally plugging it. -2 stars for this completely random experience.

Ive been running an 3" AFE Cat back and 3" straight through muffler, and racing Cat on my !998 Jeep TJ 4.0 for about 8 years, sounds fantastic but the drone and highway noise had finally begun to wear me down (im getting older ). Spent a while looking for a decent replacement muffler so I could retain the 3" pipe and came across this, exactly the same length and dimensions and significantly reduced the drone but maintains a nice low rumble. Yes the internal dimension does reduce down but personally haven't noticed any difference in performance, Im sure this is done inside the muffler to allow for the bends, And the price with free prime shipping to Australia ... Amazing. Just purchased a second one incase I smash this on the trail!!!!! As you do !!!!!
