CANON PIXMA MG2922 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer, 4800 x 600 dpi - Blue Finish

COLLEGE STUDENT ALERT: This is a must buy!!! This is the greatest thing I've ever bought off amazing. I have amazon prime FREE for being a college student so I paid a whole $47 for this!!I see its now $39 but oh well, more power to YOU. And honestly I would pay the 47 because its still a cheap price and this printer does exactly what you need it to do: print!! Being a college student I'm always printing homework assignments and no longer do I have to rush before class to the library to get this printer, Im doing it right from home!!! Installing this is easier than you think!!!!!! I usually have my boyfriend handle the technology so I left it for him to set up...well... he did put the ink cartilages in there but he had trouble downloading the software using the CD rom....He told me the printer was junk!! So I took it into my own hands to setting it up... All I did was come to the amazon listing, watch the instillation video and that was it. I had to go to canon.com/ijsetup to download the software because my laptop doesnt have a disk holder...Just make sure when youre first scanning for the printer that your laptop is right next to it!! other than that super easy and good to go! EXTREMELY SLOW WHEN PRINTING! This printer does work, however it might take a up to a couple of minutes after hitting the print button on your computer to start printing. It does not have Wi-Fi direct, which means that you need to connect it to a preexisting wifi in order for the wireless to work. This product does not come with a usb cable, so if you don't want to print wirelessly, you will need to buy a cable (I suggest the one below) I have run into problems printing from the computer once or twice, but it eventually started working again. If you don't intend to print from the computer, then this printer should work perfectly for you and it comes with my recommendation because it is one of the cheapest AIO printer on the market. This printer is almost the same as the one by Canon that I had for many years. Apparently the model I owned is no longer manufactured. So I was looking for one that was similar. Most of the subsidiaries of Amazon would not ship the printers I wanted to Guam so I was delighted to find one subsidiary that was. The Canon printer looks almost the same as my previous one and apparently has more features. But I'm only interesting in scanning and printing and it works just fine. I was worried that the printer might have been damaged during its shipment to Guam but the shippers packed it with care. The cost was quite reasonable. I am very happy with my purchase and wish Amazon and its subsidiaries were willing to ship more items to Guam.

I should start this review by saying I was desperate. My previous Epson inkjet printer died suddenly (the first of that brand to actually fail) and refused to print. This was right in the middle of a holiday shipping rush when I had tons of postage to print and minimal money to spend on a printer. Deciding it didn't make sense to repurchase the model that just failed me, I decided to look around for a new inkjet printer. This one caught my eye because it was cheap and Canon seems like a reputable brand. I ordered it.What a mistake I made.This printer is complete and utter garbage. I have had it for one day and am already planning how best to replace it. The printer is large and heavy and comes with a power cord that is too short to reach the floor when the printer is placed on top of a standard sized dresser. Even on a desk I think it would be a stretch.The printer has a power button, a color start button, a black start button, a wifi light, and a mysterious alarm light that flashes some pseudo morse code nonsense to indicate what problems the printer might be facing. The paper loads at the top and that's about the only good feature on this piece of junk. Even the feed tray where paper lands after printing is a failure lacking any upward slant to keep papers from flying off the machine and onto the floor.This printer has no LED display. This turned out to be a huge problem during set up. Everything has to be done through the computer via downloadable setup software (which is not found at the webpage listed in the instructions and is mysteriously found on a second page not under the printer model MG2922 but under the printer series MG2920) or from a smartphone or tablet via their dated and clunky app.If you cannot complete the setup quickly, the entire thing fails and you have to start again. You connect the printer to your home wifi network via the app and god help you if you mis-type your password because the printer won't. It does not mention that the password is invalid and instead acts as if set up went perfectly and the printer just can't be found.Ink loads awkwardly from the print of the printer directly above the feed tray. The front of the printer opens with an elementary snap closure that seems to be one false step from snapping off (something I'm actually hoping for at this point). The printer has a black and color cartridge. Be sure to remember where you put them because nothing on the printer itself is labeled to indicate the color vs black cartridge spot.Every time this printer turns on it is accompanied by a loud lurching screech that is much like a death knell. This sound continues when printing documents. One black and white page takes a full minute with extremely loud printing noises accompanying it throughout the entire process. Print quality is decent enough. But it should be with how slow it is.The description and labels misleadingly say that this printer can print from a tablet or phone. That is true if you want to be locked into Canon's mercurial and seemingly useless printer app which, shockingly, is also not optimal. This printer does NOT support AirPrint on iOS devices. There is no way to print directly from any iPad apps including Notes, Safari, or anything else you might be using.I suppose sometimes you do get what you pay for. At this point I'm willing to pay someone to take it away. When it's time to buy a new inkjet printer I'll be going back to Epson. Save yourself the trouble and start there. Skip this disaster.

Just what I was wanting. I was looking for a basic printer and scanner that we would use for home that would not cost a fortune. This is perfect. It looks nice and works great. Setup was easy. Just put in the cd and follow instructions. It was easy to connect to my home WiFi also. At first it did not see my printer on the network and with just a click it scanned and added it to my network. Very very simple. It prints beautifully. No marks or leaked ink. I am very impressed with how simple it is to set up and use and the quality of print for the price. Exactly what I was looking for.
