Smells Wonderful!
Honestly this would be worth getting solely as a deodorizer! Not as effective on long-haired dogs like mine I'm sure, so I can't verify if it really kills on contact. Definitely a parasite repellent though. I've m noticed my dogs nibbling at themselves less, which I chalk up partly to the flea preventative (they have flea allergies) and partly to the fact it tastes bad to them! If you have a dog who likes to chew needs, this is also a good "no bite deterrent"! Just a great overall product. However, the only negative I've found is that the new bottles they use frankly suck. They're prone to leak, and the sprayer tends to stop working before you reach the bottom of the bottle. My solution has been to get a refillable cleaning spray bottle. You can find them cheap at pretty much any store. And I'd suggest a filter too if you don't already have one - unless you're someone with steady hands, unlike me Even with the few extra bucks spent on a better bottle, it's worth it and it's not like you'll need to be them each time.

Great for ants too
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill you must know your enemy, and in this case, my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will not quit, ever. - Carl Spackler, 1980Wise words - know your enemy. My enemy is the ant. They took control of my bath tub and was using it as a water slide. The shower doors run along a track which unfortunately collects water. When I opened the doors, ants ran scurrying in all directions. I thought, "good." But, it wasn't good; it was bad. What I failed to realize about ants is that if you alarm them, they spray a scent which tells the hive they're under attack. The hive sends more ants. They found their water park but picked up the scent of the previous battle. I would spray poison, which would last a few days. But, soon the next wave of ants attacked. After a long bloody battle, I did research on ants to see if I could modify their behavior using pheromones. I didn't find anything, but learned that ants hate the smell of cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla. There is a product on the market called Ant Out, but it's three times the price of this great product here made for dogs.I was smelling the poisons and insecticide every time I took a shower, figuring this can't be doing my health much good. I doused the shower along the ant trails and inside the tracks. The next day, nothing was crawling. I spotted one or two lifeless ants which I carefully disposed of without "squishing" them which could release the "attack" signal. After three days, I see a perfectly clean bathroom again.I will continue to squirt a tiny bit of this product, which contains clove oil and the other natural spices which ants hate. It must over-power the pheromones and ant trails as well. I'm sure it will work great on fleas and ticks for your pet as well. One gotcha - my bathroom is smelling like a freshly baked ham. I've gotten used to it. Smells a helova lot better than smelling like insecticide. Your pet may smell like baked ham as well - again, not a bad trade-off for a great product.

Amazing product, chemical free. I also use it on myself!
This product works great. It smells like clove and cinnamon, which you have to live with. I don't find it overpowering, especially if you spray it on your dog outside. I also use it on surfaces they sleep on (dog beds, couches etc...) It doesn't stain the upholstery or my dogs. Granted, I might not see staining on their coats because one is dark brown, and the other is a light fawn color. I use it in conjunction with the bath soap, and apply the spray after they've dried off. The dogs aren't bothered at all by the scent. One of them has a tendency to lick, but a bully stick keeps him distracted while it dries. Afterwards, no licking, no adverse reaction, no diarrhea, no vomiting. But I realize every dog and breed/mix is different. I haven't had any problems. It also leaves their coats beautifully shiny- not at all oily as I was initially concerned about. Ok, and as an 'off-label use', I even use in on myself if I'm outdoors during mosquito season (It works!). I wouldn't use anything on my dogs that I don't feel comfortable and safe using myself.I just feel much better knowing that the dogs aren't coated in chemicals like frontline. I took frontline for granted for many years and several dogs until one of them had an incredibly bad reaction to it. Not only that, they still would occasionally get ticks, and my last dog still developed lyme twice even after being vaccinated and using frontline his entire life. So I've sworn off chemicals- the stuff stays on dogs for a month, and people are warned to wash throughly if you come in contact with it directly. It doesn't add up, and not worth the health risks. There's no downside to this natural product. Having read all the reviews, I would suggest just testing a small amount to see if you're dog can tolerate it, and if you see any changes in color on a white dog's fur. I haven't had any problems, and will continue to use it.

Jury is still out on the 5th star
I think the key to this product working may be how you use it. I have a small, long haired chihuahua. She was wrapped up with fleas. All of the medicines from the vet (Advantage, Advantix, Frontline) had quit working. The fleas were actually skinning dipping in the oily spot on the back of her neck. I ordered this stuff some time back. I sprayed in on her but really only saturated her belly and legs. I had sprayed some on her back but just on the surface of her fur. This stuff is strong and smells of cloves and cinnamon. Not entirely unpleasant once you get used to it. The fleas still didn't go away completely. The last time I bathed her with flea shampoo killing all the fleas first. Then while she was still wet, I saturated her with this spray and massaged it into her very well. Then I wrapped her in a towel and let it soak in.I didn't realize that the fleas had not come back until I bathed her again weeks later. She had no fleas. I was shocked. The only thing I can think of is that this product did the job. I don't know how well it could work on a large dog with thick fur, but if you can get it down to the skin and let it stay on, it may work better.I will try to remember to update later on.
