Excellent quality, exactly what I needed for a fair price
I bought two of these along with a GM Climbing double rescue pulley. I am not using them for climbing, I purchased them to use to create a mechanical advantage for the winch on my ATV and other applications. I understand that it is not designed for this and will of course take necessary precautions. I have some snatch blocks for my synthetic winch rope, but they will not fit more than 1/4" rope, and the winch rope is only 50'. I have an old 150' rappelling rope that is in excellent condition, although I don't think that rappelling with it is a good idea due to its age. I have tested the mechanical advantage using these pulleys and pulling my ATV by hand up a slight incline and everything works as expected (according to a video on YouTube I am getting a 9:1 mechanical advantage using 4 pulleys). The 12mm rappelling rope runs freely and smoothly through these pulleys and they seem to be very well made. Based on the rated specs, the rope should break before the pulleys. I have a similar brand name micro pulley that I bought about 20 years ago at a climbing specialty retailer for more than $50, and the GM Climbing pulley appears to be of equal or better quality. Would I trust my life to this pulley in a climbing/rescue scenario? Based on what I have seen so far, I would have to say yes. We'll see how well they hold up for my application. For the price I won't cry if I break one and have to replace it.

UNSAFE
Excessive play in sheave, not for serious use, DEFINITELY NOT LIFE SUPPORT.Pulley also has excessive play in side plates and rough/abrasive marks on sheave compared to pulleys that I own from reputable manufacturers.I am doubtful of the validity of the EN and UIAA certifications and will be emailing them respectively.

Could be improved.
I purchased this climbing pulley and a couple petzl pulleys at the same time. The designing on the top ring on this one allows it to be pinched together on the pulley wheel and prevent the wheel from turning. It will probably function, however, the petzl design doesn’t allow the pulley wheel to be pinched. I would not buy this one again.

I seriously doubt these blue pulleys are ball bearing
The description states "Blue-Ball bearing: less contact area with axle, more efficient with very little friction in system, excellent for high speed use." BUT, there is way more play between the sheave and the axle than I would expect from ball bearings. There is no way to tell other than destructive investigation. Maybe the tolerances are loose, but for what purpose? With the axle clamped on the ends in a mini vise, I can wobble the sheave on the axle 1mm measured at the rimI gave it two stars because they do roll easily. I'm concerned about the longevity and with so much play keeping dirt and grit out.I have a number of items from GM Climbing and this is the first item I am disappointed with.

I loved this 30 KN swing cheek Micro GM climbing pulley
I loved this 30 KN swing cheek Micro GM climbing pulley; the same day i got it i stated using it after series of hauling some heavy cement bags 100 at 94 lbs per bag people were surprised that such a small device could do so much work without buckling under constant weight: this is a very strong piece of equipment i recommend it to any one for hauling.Thank yousend me news letters on new products or sales ( promotions)

Don't buy if you need it to spin under any load
Bought to use for a zip line. Wheel on pulley doesn't spin under load. Absolute garbage.

Great value in an excellent pulley
The GM Climbing equipment we have purchased is extremely well made and seems every bit as good as the more expensive brands. We use it for cave exploration, lowering gear down. This little pulley is small and easy to carry, as well as quick to deploy. Does its job very well indeed and the price can't be beat.

Item folds under any weight.
Please correct me if I'm wrong...This item says it holds a 30kN, which is roughly 6000 lbs of gravitational force. I bought 4 of them and made 6 point Z pull with 175lbs on the other side and it shredded my line. upon inspection I found that when we had more that 50ish lbs on the system the top connection which we had on an aluminum climbing carabiner would over pinch the ball bearing system causing no rotation and made friction between the pulley and the line which heated up my line and shredded it. I guess i got what i paid for...

No UIAA cert!
No record of GM 30kn pulley on UIAA certificate register. Feels very flimsy. Some GM Climbing stuff does have UIAA certs but not this! Wouldnt trust this within any rope system so returned as not fit for purpose.
