Would this be too easy for a 4 year old?

Children develop at different rates, especially early on. The cards target a mix of early learning skills that children need for school success. If some of the cards seem easy for your child, know that being successful helps to build your child's self-esteem. In addition, the step-by-step parent guide provides a wealth of additional learning activities to enrich the learning gained by working through the cards.

I got the pre k reading set which comes with a pen and 2 books. can i by additional books separately? will this pen 'read' other books/sets?

Yes, as long as they are also books by Hot Dots. I think there are other brands of similar educational materials, but I'm not sure the Pens would work in those books/sets. We have several books & box sets of Hot Dots that the pens work with. You can also purchase additional pens, like the puppy or kitty. Both of those work with all the other HOT DOTS books & sets as well.

Does this set have the exact same activities/cards as other sets such as the pre-k sets?

Hi there, the content will be similar but it will not have the exact same questions.

Will any character hot dots pen work on the JR cards?

Yes, any of our Hot Dots Pens will work on any Hot Dots cards/book.
