Cannot open lemon pod; have twisted repeatedly. no prob with avocado pod. help!

I believe it slides... Not really sure.

A tomato was left too long and it molded. I cant get the mold off because I am afraid of poking a hole in it.Is there a way to clean it?

Try soaking it in white vinegar over night. No guarantees, but it should kill most of the mold spores.
