The best for all kinds of leather.
This cream is perfect for shell cordovan leather. I just bought my grail boots, the Grant Stone Maduro Shell Diesel’s(refer to photo) and I conditioned it with this VSC. Look at the results. I simply applied a pea size and spread it all over. Then I buffed with a brush and a microfiber rag. The results speak for itself (refer to the photo). Results of a thin layer of VSC. Also used it in my shell cordovan card holder. Same shine and the wallet really needed it too. Can’t get any better because this cream has some waxes in it so you can use it on all kinds of leather, cxl, shell, kudu, etc,. Smooth leathers but not for rough out or suede. This stuff also doesn’t have a smell which is nice. I used to use Saphir products and sometimes I still do but their cream and polish smell so strong I don’t like it. The VSC has no smells whatsoever and you can apply it with your bare hands. Or at least I do.

Works
Very good, I've used a few different leather lotions: Dillards leather lotion ( which they sell in the store, but I haven't been able to find anymore), Leather Honey, and Johnson and Murphy's leather lotion. I like this one allot. It's very creamy, which allows it to go a long way and absorbs pretty well into the leather. I've used on my brown Johnson and Murphy's Chelsea Boots and my brown leather jacket from Wilson's leather. My black Thursday boot company boots were drenched in water as I was caught in the rain on the bike and I let my boots dry out with cedar trees in them. After two days, they smelt of mold so I cleaned them with mold remover watered down. Did the trick. My boots were extremely dry I have slathered Venetian Shoe cream on them in one sitting, not wiping off the excess. The boots were malleable, but too stiff and creaked when I walked. I then proceeded to slather the boots in the shoe cream again for another night, inside and out, then performed the ritual again the next night and the boots have become close to their original feel. This product works, as of now, no color change, no cracking, nor has there been any degradation from the shoe cream even though I've applied a large amount in such a short span of time. We will see in the future but after a week the boots are getting back to their original feel.

Very pleased! Removed extra wax and made the boots look nice again!
The boots are Red Wing Iron Rangers in Charcoal Rough and Tough color. I had applied Sno Seal to them to make them waterproof and didn’t really like the way they looked after a weekend of hiking. Hard to explain, but the wax seemed to concentrate at crease points in the toe area and some parts were shiner than others. Anyway, I got some Fiebing’s Saddle Soap to remove the wax. I used a horsehair dauber brush and scrubbed quite thoroughly and went over them twice. Most of the wax was removed, but I couldn’t seem to get it all off. I thought I’d try the Venetian Shoe Cream, as it says it cleans and polished. It contains petroleum distillates, and I thought it might remove the remaining wax. It seems to have done so. The boot on the right is after the saddle soap but before the Venetian Shoe Cream, while the boot on the left is after the Venetian Shoe Cream (just one coat). I was very pleased with the outcome. I had used Venetian Shoe Cream a little bit before, but this really elevated my opinion of it!

Kiwi seems just as good and smells better.
The Kiwi version seems just as good and smells better. Plus is cheaper. This works fine though.

Off-label use is the best finish mirror-quality shine on polished leather shoes
I am amazed that Venetian Shoe Cream only mentions in passing that it can be buffed to a shine. For all of its primary purpose as a leather conditioner, the sole reason that I buy it is because it is the best final step polish for shining shoes in the world. It's really that good if you are intent on spit shining leather the old fashioned way. I was introduced to Venetian Shoe Cream almost 40 years ago as a cadet at a military university. We wore the old leather low-quarter military issue shoes that were not the synthetic material that mimics waxed and polished leather. I probably spent as much time polishing shoes as an underclassman as I did studying. Mirror-finish glassy shine was the standard. To begin the process you need to start with a standard wax shoe polish and build up some thin surface layers of wax. When the wax layers are smooth and uniformly applied on the toe, sides, and heel, Venentian Neutral applied in **very** small amounts on a cotton t-shirt should be applied by rubbing in small circles with two fingers. The amount of Venetian that you will use for spit shining is probably 1% of what you would use if you were trying to condition leather to keep it supple. When using it as a polish, it remains on the surface of the wax rather than being absorbed into the leather itself. There should be just enough Venetian cream to make the surface of the shoe look cloudy as you rub it in. The t-shirt cloth should also be moistened (you can use water or spit if you prefer) to keep the cream from drying too quickly as it is rubbed only the surface. The cream should disappear into the wax as it forms a thin shiny layer on top of the wax. Repeat this process several times and you will eventually have the most impressive shine on your shoe leather. I don't spit shine very often these days and my old glass bottle of Venetian neutral lasted about 25 years before it thickened to the point that I had to buy a new bottle on Amazon. I was glad to find that the formula hasn't changed. I only use it for one pair that is worn with a tuxedo to black tie events and a quick touch up with Venetian brings out the glassy mirror finish quickly since they have a good layer of wax on Venetian already applied.

A little goes a long way.
Helps clean and preserve leather. Left a smooth gloss. Use as little as required for a complete application. Test in a less visible spot. I had not difficulty with color change or spotting.

Makes it easy to keep your boots looking good. 👍
If you want to condition and give your boots a little bit of shine then this is the product you’ll need. I’ve used many products on my 30 pairs of boots and I’ve heard many good things about this product before purchasing it. I can now say that I wish I’d bought it long ago. It makes it easy to care and make your boots look rejuvenated and the color of the leather more vibrant with just the right amount of shine. I’ve done 6 pairs of boots and only used half the bottle.

Very nice, this feels right.
Very nice, this feels right and I can believe it contains quality ingredients. Easy to apply, with improved appearance immediately apparent. Subtle shine. Follow with polish if you need color / more shine. Only complaint is the plastic bottle has a tendency to suddenly spit out a glob of shoe cream. Splat! Next time, I'll get a quart can, which should last for years.
