The Worst of the Worst
I bought this product thinking that I was dealing with a reputable company. I put the product on both of my notebook computers. I upgraded my notebooks from Win 7 to Win 8.1. What a waste that was. Win 8 is full of glitter and little direct functionality. I wipe my computers clean and reinstalled the original OP, with Win 7. I am so happy to be back to Win 7. Of course I had to reinstall the Webster software. Only the company does not allow for reinstallation. I have sent the company two of it’s contact E-mails. I never got a response from the company’s staff. I guess the staff believe they do not need to treat it’s customers in ethical legal manner… pooh on them! RICHARD

Not worth of the money!!
I am quite happy with this purchase. This dictionary has many advantages that I'd like t to point out some of them: 1 - A really complete database, comparable to ODE and NOAD 2 - Including both Dictionary and Thesaurus 3 - A vast sound collection including almost all parts of speech 4 - Sound quality of the pronunciations are unsurpassed by any other dictionary 5 - You can make folders for your bookmarks and categorize them. 6 - You can simultaneously have it installed on two machines 7 - By using a keyboard combination you can call the dictionary from within Adobe Reader, MS Word or the Internet I only have a minor problem with dictionary: I cannot use my bookmarks as flash cards (like having your entries on the left and their meanings on the right) so every time you want to review a word in your bookmark, have to open the word from the bookmark menu. *** I have to update my review: the activation code does not work in re-installation. so it is not worth to buy it unless you use your OS for years without reinstalling.

No Product Code received
Sir/Madam, This product, in DVD format, was received with no Product Code included. I opened it using a P.C. from a previous (same) product purchased from Amazon. However, new product "threatens" to shut down in 14 days - in the absence of a P.C. Also, features (four?) other than the M-W Dictionary don't open. How can I get this product up and running? Please advise. Thank you. David G. Brunner Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary & Thesaurus 11th Edition Deluxe Audio for PC [Download ]

Handy and precise ( did I spell that correctly? )
I've used Webster's 'software' dictionary for quite some time. It's fast, reliable and doesn't cause problems. I keep the icon pinned to my quick access bar and when I'm stumped for a spelling I just give one click and up it pops, helping my tired mind to remember how many 'i's are in Mississipi ( hmmm...that doesn't look right ). The dictionary as well as the thesaurus are helpful in finding the right word at the right time with guides and other aids. The install is a little rough because the software company wants to make sure you are the one who purchased the disc, but outside of that I find the everyday software execution flawless. Online dictionaries might be cheaper, but if you're looking for speed, dependability and an instant 'I.Q.' booster when the correct spelling or proper use of that specific word elludes you, Webster's is a must-have tool. Excuse me for a second while I check...Ah-ha! How about that! It's two 'p's.

DO NOT BOTHER!!!
Absolutely useless. Hard to use, definitions WHEN you can get them to load, are 3 or 4 words long apropos of nothing, least of all an actual definition of a word. The synonyms and antonyms are doled out with a clogged eye dropper. Serious waste of money and memory space. I got this mainly to avoid the spamming from the free online sites. I figured well at least since there is a link with in the program to go to their online site, I won't have to put up with all the spam. . . NOT!!!!!! . . In a coup de gras of resplendent uselessness, the link does not give you a spam free access to their on line site. RUN AWAY from this, give the 20 bucks to a homeless person, or use it in the restroom, you will have gotten more use for the money that way, than you will spending it on this!

Not worth the time.
It wasn't worth the struggle to get it to install. I should have paid attention to the other people who had trouble with it, but no, I had to try. Ended up cleaning it all off my pc and sending it back to Amazon. I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any way to contact Fogware. Am still looking, for a dictionary that speaks the words, is good at what it does, and more like the American Heritage Talking Dictionary. It's a shame they don't make one for Windows 7.
