Allows continued use of old DVD players with new TVs
I normally keep up to date with all my tech. However, because I rarely play DVDs now, I couldn't see the point of purchasing a new and up-to-date Blue Ray / DVD player (with an HDMI connection rather than the SCART connections that my existing DVD player has) if it wasn't going to be used very much.Unfortunately, as my Sony AF9 TV has no SCART connection, there was no way to connect this to my old, but perfectly serviceable, Sony DVD player. The Hugomega SCART to HDMI converter is one of a number of similar devices available on Amazon, that will solve this particular problem. I found it dead easy to install, taking a 5v power supply from.a handy USB port on the back panel of my TV.Although clearly, the picture quality achieved when using this converter, is nowhere near the resolution that my TV is capable of displaying, I didn't expect it to be.However, having now played a couple of DVDs using this setup, I can confirm that the image quality is broadly acceptable and as such, in return for a modest outlay, the Hugomega converter allows you to watch cherished DVDs without the need to shell out for a new Blue Ray / DVD player, just for the want of an HDMI connection. The only caveat is that pictute quality is a bit compromised!

A piece of kit that really works.
Worked well and was very easy to set up. Made it possible to use a WiFit on an our television.

Does exactly as described. Working for me perfectly.
We wanted to take an old VCR and get it plugged into the TV which didn't have any SCART sockets. This little box has worked perfectly. It comes with a power cable which is a micro USB and for the VCR and SCART inputs it did require this. We used a spare USB socket from the TV which was actually designed to provide a voltage. It has been in way over a week thus far and has been working perfectly during this time. We don't notice and degradation in picture or sound quality - to be fair though, VHS quality is terrible compared to what we are used to these days. The box seems very well made. All the connectors feel good quality and the cables all fit snugly as expected. Nothing has fallen out despite being made from plastic. If you want this to perform SCART in and an HDMI out it does the job perfectly!! Recommended.

Just what I needed for my Nintendo GameCube
I got a new Panasonic 4K TV (for using with a PS5) but it doesn't have any SCART inputs for connecting my old Nintendo GameCube. So I had to buy this SCART to HDMI converter. It does the job great, the picture is a little fuzzy but, let's be real here, this is a console from a long time ago so getting it to work at all with a modern TV is just great. Easy to use, very fast delivery, happy days.

Overall great product
I'm using this with a splitter to connect a PS2 and a Wii to my TV and couldn't be happier. It's easy to use, works great and does its job wonderfully with picture quality that you'd expect from such non HD devices. The only minor gripe I have is that the power LED is a little on the bright side and lights up my console cabinet like a Christmas tree but with how well it works I'll give that a pass.Would recommend :)

Does what you I need.
Having recently bought a more up to date television set, I found the new set didn't have a scart socket.I didn't want to fork out on a whole new multi-regional DVD player too, as the one I have still works just fine. This neat little device has allowed me to connect my older player to my newer TV with ease, and I have been able to enjoy my DVD's without worry. This is just the adaptor, to connect older scart leads from devices to newer HDMI leads for newer TV sets. You will need to purchase the other cables separately, if you do not already own any.

No hdmi cable
Item works fine now but was disappointed when received as no hdmi cable included. Obviously the need to purchase the converter box meant I needed the cable also. I would have had no issue paying for it, just expected it to be included. All sorted now and converter working fine
