Reliable Replacement Float Switch – Easy Installation and Customizable
After discovering water in my basement due to a failed float switch, I purchased the Superior Pump 92010 Vertical Float Switch as a replacement. Installation was straightforward, and I was able to adjust it to the necessary depth for my sump pump. The switch has been functioning effectively since installation, providing peace of mind during heavy rains. I appreciate its universal design, which is compatible with various sump and utility pumps. Overall, a dependable product that meets expectations.

good product I am happy with it so far.
I have tried a couple of the corded ball floats with the switch inside and had very poor luck with then. They seem unreliable. This switch works perfect for me. I have an 8 ft deep sump. I have a piece of the shelving channel that is about half in wide which I attached the switch to. then attached that to the side of the sump hole. I can easily lift it out to adjust the switch or it's position on the channel. The switch itself is easily adjustable. The cord is long enough for the 8 ft. It should last a long time it is plastic but as long as you don't abuse it there should be no problem. If I have any issues I will edit the post . Also will update at the end of the season to verify that it still is working .

It works well
Our 25 year old basement sump pump suddenly stopped working. Minor washing machine flood. Discovered the micro switch on the float was worn. New pump was $600 and the micro switch was sealed, couldn't repair. Found this stand alone float switch that would mount like I needed it to on the discharge PVC. Fairly simple install and the way the float was adjusted perfectly matched the on and off level of the pump's switch and float. Removed the pump's float bulb and easily wired the bad micro switch arm up (on) where it still made contact. Plugged the new stand alone switch in, ran a test with a garden hose filling the sump and it works great. Major saving between $600 and $50 for the new switch setup. The pump worked fine just needed a bypass on it's worn out float switch. So glad to have found the Superior Stand Alone Float Switch! Successful Mission.

Good option for small sumps; float rod is too lightweight and bendable
This is a great option if you have a small sump since it takes up far less room than a tethered float switch. Installation is very simple and straightforward. Operation has been good -- it's responsive to the rising water level, and can be adjusted as to how high you want the water level before the pump is triggered. The main shortfall is the plastic rod that holds the float. It's plastic and bends easily. If you're not careful with placement, the float can bind on the rod, and won't trigger the pump to turn on. I straightened out the rod as best as possible and it's working fine at present, but it's clearly a shortcoming/cost-cutting move. It should have been made of metal. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on the condition of the float rod to make sure it works when it needs to work. Other than the float rod, no complaints.

Great float switch but needs modifications
Installed in an Aquascape Signature 400 skimmer box with an Aquascape 4000gph pump, as protection for the pump in case the water level in the pond drops. The switch comes with a hose clamp intended for attachment to the discharge hose of the pump but because of the orientation of my pump in the skimmer box, the discharge hose rises up at an angle before it exits the skimmer box. As a result, the float switch sat at an angle and this was problematic. I made the support stand shown in the photo,( 2 inch wide x 1/8 inch thick x 36 inches long aluminum bar) removed the hose clamp and attached the float switch to my support stand using stainless steel screws. There are multiple screw holes in the support stand to achieve optimal adjustment height of the float switch. The support stand slips over the edge of the skimmer box and the float switch is now perpendicular in the skimmer box. The float switch works reliably so far and the only thing I dislike is that the actuator rod is made using a really skinny plastic rod. A brass rod would have made more sense. This appears to be a likely early failure point in an otherwise sturdy float switch configuration. Time will tell.

Helped keep the water out of our basement.
While in the process of installing a new catch basin and sump pump, we had water start entering the basin about 2 months before normal because of the warm weather this winter. Fortunately, I had a temporary sump pump that we use in our basement walkout occasionally but I needed some way of turning it on only when there was water in the basin. Enter the Superior Pump 92010 Vertical Float Switch. It installed easily. Plugged in the new float switch, plugged the temporary sump pump into the new plug, adjusted the placement of the float switch on the PVC pipe and it worked as intended! It has a very good upper and lower limit setting. I did add a 1 inch piece of plastic 1/2 inch automotive wire wrap above the float to 'customize' when the water turns on but everything is up and running. This did help keep the water out of the basement until the permanent project is completed.

Does what it says
Works as intended. This float switch is being used as a piggyback on the sump pump to override the built-in float switch which has a range of 4". My sump pump runs about 800 times a day and I want to minimize the number of runs by increasing the operating height range. With this switch I am able to get about 6" (which amounts to about 500 runs a day), but wish it was able to do up to about 10". The usual life span is about 18-months which amounts to about 250,000 - 275,000 on/off cycles. Not bad for a typical sump pump application, but I sure would welcome more use cycles.

シャフトの耐久性が心配
シャフトがプラスチック製で頼りなさそうなのが気になりましたが、取り敢えず作動しているので、後は耐久性が心配です。冬の季節を乗り切れればと思っています。暫くは様子見です。

Works like it should
Fits perfect in the 5 gallon bucket I have. That and with the pump attached to it my portable AC unit now can take the moisture out of the air and when bucket full the switch works great to turn on pump and off at bottom so I can expel the water outside without having to carry any more buckets around. Will be ordering another one so I can set up same idea for my AC unit upstairs
