JJ 12AX7 / ECC83 Preamp Vacuum Tubes (Three Pack) New Version

I'm not sure I'd use these for a tube mic or preamp because they really start to break up early without a lot of gain (even at relatively high voltages). BUT for the price, it was a great upgrade for a Bugera V22 guitar amp. The clean gain stage sound very warm and present without any high-end harshness, but at about 12 o'clock on the gain, you start to get a rather nice break-up. Switching over to the "dirty" channel, at full gain the overtones are wild. I think it sounds worlds better than the "who knows how old" stock tubes. I think they are great for guitar amps but like I said, not very much headroom before you "hear the tubes".

I just received these tubes in the mail yesterday, and I installed them right away in the preamp section of my Jet City 20w combo amp (JCA2112). The tubes in the amp previously were marked "made in china" and were 12ax7R, which I think must be the same as the ax7s, do to their pretty high gain tendency. I picked the JJ's at the recommendation of the Jet City's product support guy, and based on some positive feedback from fellow musicians.I've only had the tubes in for about 36 hours now, but last night I put them through about 3 hours of gig time and they sounded great. The item description that Amazon provides is really pretty right on- these tubes increase clean headroom nicely. The original stock chinese tubes broke up almost instantly, and while that was fun for heavier rock, I've always been displeased with the lack of clean tones my amp could provide. The JJs changed all that in a hugely noticeable way. I'm reserving my final judgement for a few weeks from now when they've had another 10 hours of playing time, but here's what I've noticed so far:-Great headroom and very musical, lush breakup- not harsh, jagged distortion, but creamy, bluesy drive.-tight lows, very pronounced mids, and a nice, chimey high-end that isn't brittle at all.-The note separation that the increased headroom gives is really great, and even with the preamp gain cranked, lead runs and hammer-on pull-of stuff has a nice, clear quality to it that allows notes to cut through the breakup in a really cool, vintage sounding way.I guess I should also add that while this 3-pack isn't eligible for Prime, I received the package in 3 days and it was very well-protected. I would recommend the JJs, especially if you have an amp that comes stock with chinese tubes. These really do make a difference in tone.

These sound great in my Monoprice 15w tube amp. Not as much gain as the stock Chinese tubes which is what I wanted. Only has them a week so we’ll see how long they last. Also replaced the power tubes with the same brand as these.

JJs are the way to go for vacuum tubes. They sound great and the price isn’t bad. I gave four stars for longevity because I just bought them not too long ago and I have no idea how long they’ll last. Anyways, you make me up so great and I’m happy with them.

Bought these to replace a stock tube in three ART TubeMP's (I Love those and they sound really great for their price) and have been super pleased with how magnificent they sound in them. I haven't had them deployed very long so I don't know about the longevity part, but so far they sound really Rich and Warm and I'm super pleased with the purchase of them and would recommend to others for certain. Great Tubes, Great Tone!

I wanted to change the chinese stock vox preamp tubes out of my vox ac15c1. After doing a lot of research (first looking at NOS or new old stock tubes and realizing that they were way to expensive right now), I found that these JJ's would give my amp some more cleans (as I really prefer playing mostly in clean) and warmer gain. After installation I have noticed a marked improvement in my amps microphonics (or lack there of--reduced to a very slight hum when cranked up)!Some have stated that this is not good for a bright amp like vox and fenders, but I think that is all in a matter of taste (I for one enjoy the added brightness in my amp, and love that my cleans are sounding sparkly, but I admit that some will say that it may be to chimey, and for them Tungsols seem to be a good option). While NOS tubes are no doubt superior (I will eventually get some NOS telefukens or NOS teslas), these tubes are a good option for us average types on a budget.

I installed these preamp tubes also with new JJ 6L6 power tubes.I love the sound! My Bugera v55 sounds brighter and chimey with this set. This is a very nice setup with the Les Paul plugged in.

Sadly as the options for tubes decreases year after year, it gets harder to find the manufacturer's and quality you need for the amps you use to sound the best. For my Marshall's, especially my 100w Jubilee head, I used to use standard chinese 12ax7s through the years, but the manufacturing quality has suffered a lot, and these aren't a reliable option anymore. JJs are my top choice now. They sound awesome and are probably the best tubes for Marshall's at this time. Highly recommend them.

Tubes are getting rare and not many manufacturers left. I was recommended JJ and they do get good reviews so I took a chance. They look the part - well made and finished and sound good too. Difficult to assess soundwise without some comparison but the change (along with the output valves - complete new set) in my Marshall 100w head brought it back to life. Considering the reducing market the price was pretty good.The supplier was fast and the goods well packed so happy with them and the make - JJ.

I play mostly on standby through my PC so the preamp tubes are mostly in use and I was getting some hum when running through the amp speaker. I swapped these out, they are what Blackstar recommended and the amp sounds better, like I remember.I’m not really into tube comparisons the amp sounded great out of the box, these work well, no issues.

I put these in my Blues Jr. A little less touch-sensitive than the stock Groove Tubes I think, but also a more rounded sound with fewer uncomfortable highs. I much prefer the sound of my Jazzmaster through these.

Great quality valves. Perfect replacement for the stock Chinese ones that came with my amp

Purchased to go in a Valveking II 50w as I blew 2 of my tubes, just replaced the lot with this set, amp sounds way better now too.

Chi vende valvole dovrebbe sapere come spedirle con sicurezza ,queste mi sono arrivate senza un adeguato imballaggio ,nulla di nulla solo gli scatolini delle valvole dentro la scatola di cartone molto fino,niente polistirolo o bags con bolle aria,sono arrivate integre per miracolo quindi anche se il prodotto è buono non credo che acquisterò nuovamente da questo venditore.

J'ai commandé ces tubes en lot de trois pour faire refonctionner l'unité de prise de disque TSU / Tormat d'un juke-box seeburg. Il s'agit donc bien de tubes 100 % neufs, aucun doute là dessus, fabriqués en Slovaquie. Elles remplacent des 12AX7. Mon appareil fonctionne de nouveau très bien.Par contre, l'étoile en moins, c'est plutôt du dépit, car les trois tubes étaient juste emballés dans leurs boîtes carton, et simplement glissés scotchés par trois dans une enveloppe cartonnée, sans aucune protection ! Ça agace, c'est du verre tout de même ! C'est expédié par Amazon, j'aurais attendu mieux de leur part.

Das Klangergebnis der Röhren ist gut und gegenüber den alten Billigröhren ein Aha-Effekt schon beim ersten Hören ohne vorheriger Einspielphase .

These JJ's make my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe sound great. I didn't realize the tone I was missing.

Sono arrivate oggi 05-01-2017 !! felice sorpresa!! le ho provate tutte e 3 funzionano correttamente,nessun rumore presente.Per l'utilizzo microfonico le valvole vanno selezionate,mi sono fidato del tris arrivato dal belgio,sinceramente sono soddisfattissimo.
