Doesn’t coat the lips and had to go over them at least three times. However my lips did not dry out like typical matte lipsticks.

I bought this lipstick a few years ago (don't remember that....LOL) & then just again purchased again recently.. I read online that it was a good "dupe" for a lipstick that I love (Urban Decay BackTalk) so I decided to give it a try.. First of all the color isn't a color that I would call a dupe or similar to the Urban Decay lipstick, it has more of a tan overall color/look to it which you can see more on my hand.. The BackTalk lipstick is more of a pink overtone which suits me better.. It might be hard to see in the pictures but the hand swatches are very different but of course colors come out different on the lips.. NEXT.... this lipstick lasts for a while, because its a matte one (few hours for me because I don't do much eating or drinking alot) & I always find myself reapplying lipstick through the day anyway.. NEXT... I didn't find this lipstick very moisturizing... My lips are usually very dry & I have to use a lip balm/lip conditioner before I put on my lipstick & that helps the lipstick be a bit more moisturizing especially if its a matte one.. I like the matte lipsticks because they stay on a bit longer, don't usually find them very moisturizing.. If you're looking for moisturizing lipsticks them go for creamier lipsticks, those are usually good.. Overall this lipstick was good but I didn't like the color (was too tan & I have cool undertone w/pink highlights) but lasts good & the price is definitely a value if you can find some good colors.. it's decent for a cheap black lipstick if you're on a budget. I think it works fine but it doesn't last too long and doesn't have the best coverage. if you want one of quality that lasts longer you're better off saving your money to get that instead. it's also marketed as matte but it rubs off on everything and doesn't dry up. you need to actually add a few layers of it to have enough opacity to look okay.

Those big MATTE letters on the packaging were kind of misleading, I expected the kind of dry matte that I would need cocoa butter to help smooth on but this is not that at all.I has a matte finish but it goes on super smooth and it is not drying. Perfect for my Halloween witch costume.Exceeded expectations for a $5 product, 5 stars from me.

They are all pretty colors but I ordered 4 at one time and they all arrived broken.

This is really weird for me because I’ve used black lipsticks before but this goes on smooth but it is almost sheer and then it’s like it turns a grey color and almost doesn’t cover all the way. I bought it to do ombré and it hasn’t worked for me.

The perfect baby pink flattering to pale skin which I have struggled to find. It is very definately matte. Long lasting it can be a bit drying but works well with a lip balm underneath.

Love the colour and texture,but every single one I've had, the lipstick breaks. And the protective casing shatters. YAWN!

Beautiful colour, only thing is it was a little bit sticky so when I used it one day on dry lips the stick snapped at the base! But I can still use it and love it, I just have to make sure there is a very thin base layer of lip balm before applying!
