SHAOLIN DRUNKEN MONK - DVD Movie

Don't you know the only thing that matters is the brain inside his thick skull?
It works as a kung fu film, but it's not one of the best. Gordon Liu is the son of a martial arts master who gets killed by a rival intent on taking over his school. Liu escapes drowning to train under a drunken monk and team up with the one-handed Kam to get revenge. The streaming version has good picture quality. The dub is pretty bad, but more in a "so bad its good" way. The story is bare bones, but not stupid. The fight scenes are actually pretty good except for the end; the main villain has a rather hilarious lunge that looks like a cat scratching someone, and Gordon has to use the "Miss Ho" style of the 8 drunken gods at some point. Compared to a lot of movies it's pretty good. However you are better served by watching dance of the drunk mantis if you like drunken style kung fu. This film is pretty decent, but there are much better out there.

You kidnapped me, but you're my childhood friend from 20 years ago. Guess we're married now.
This movie is what would happen if Stockholm Syndrome itself went through a training montage, but then they didn't put that montage in the movie. Also, there's significantly little Drunken style in the flick for it being in the name.

Classic Kung Fu
If your a kung fu movie collector, this is a must have. There are many Drunken Monk kung fu movies, but this is the best.

Kung fu toilet.
Look I love Gordon Liu, but this just isn't very good. The picture quality is awful, it has a copyright stamp on it, it isn't full screen. The dub is rubbish, no subtitle option and voice acting is poor.Story is OK, the flashbacks are well done but it's just not very good. I love Gordon Liu and was hankering for more after being spoilt by 8 diagram pole fighter and Martial club. This cost me around a fiver including postage, I doubt I'll watch it again, save up and get a decent film.
