Great nostalgia
This dvd is great quality, my 5 and 6 year old have not stopped watching this film. It is amazing to see how much they are enjoying things from mummy and daddy’s era.

DVD-R format
Have fond memories of this version of Alice in Wonderland so purchased this DVD as not available of Bluray. The audio is adequate however the video leaves a little to be desired, even for DVD. Was a little disappointed to find this disc is DVD-R format.

Largely faithful to the book.
A faithful adaptation of the story, unlike the awful Tim Burton version out there. The story opens with Alice Liddell and her two sisters Edith and Lorina boating with Charles Dogson and a friend. If you can overlook the image of two young men going off alone with three teenage girls, something which would definitely raise eyebrows today then you quite quickly get going with the story of Alice In Wonerland as the story was indeed told all those long years ago. The girl who plays Alice in the story was about 15 so older than the fictional Alice in the book. The rest of the story plays out more or less as it does in the book. The effects are mostly practical and the strange creatures are mostly created with costumes. All in all possibly the best live action version of the story I've seen. Though I'm still waiting for a big budget faithful adaptation of the book.
