Very insightful and detailed
Lots of detailed useful information, without a bunch of unwanted storylines.

FlyFiisher's Guide to Washington
It is the best there is but it has become rather dated. It is ten years old. The rivers and lakes it covers are done exceeding well but many other waters are not covered at all. It would be nice if more attention was focused on the waters near the population base of the state, the Puget Sound area. Maybe Greg Thomas will do us a great favor and write an update version. One can hope!!

Helpful reference
With a state as big as Washington, it would be impossible to cover all the waters in detail. But this book does a great job of summarizing the waters it does cover. Suggested times, flies, and locations are helpful to somebody (like me) who knows very little about Washington's fishing potential. Detailed treatments of some of these waters can be found online and in other books, so this book's main advantage is as a quick reference to start planning your next trip. And in that capacity, it's a pretty good one! Recommended.

If you fly fish Washington you should have this book.
My old copy was borrowed and never returned by a bait fisherman. Never trust a bait fisherman. I keep this book in my rig at all times along with my fly fishing gear.

Love it!
Well written summaries that are concise and enjoyable to read. Nice reference to add to your library if you flyfish in WA.

Almost worthless.
The book is extremely basic. It consists of only the briefest of overviews. I just wanted information on run timing, basic techniques and general locations mainly the northwest rivers. Essentially what you get is some ramblings about beauty, fly fishing, the good ol days and how precious a single steelhead is. Wikipedia gives more in depth fishing information than this book. I only read the section on the north west maybe the rest is better.

Good info but lose the attitude
Book seems to have good information on a bunch of rivers and lakes, I've only fished a few of them so far. Could do without the fly snobby attitude though, gets a little annoying.
