Sennheiser Replacement Ear Pads for PX200/PXC150/PXC250/PMX200 Headphones

These were perfect replacement pads for my old PXC250 earphones. They look to be genuine Sennheiser replacements and the quality is as good as I remember the originals. No instructions included but not hard to figure out. They are a little tricky to get on, but just work it a little bit at a time and you should be able to get them on. The "leather" on the old earpads were completely worn, which greatly reduced the seal on my ears and the ability for sound reduction. These replacements took care of that issue.

Impossible to fit on the actual headphones. Sent them back. Not a solution.

I followed the advice of the review titled "Sennheiser Online Store Sells These Cheaper - Item Number 541341" and found that since this review was written, the price had dropped to $7.95 with free shipping at the Sennheiser website. They also perfectly fit my PXC 300's. Installation was simple and took a total of 5 minutes. The advice one reviewer gave of running your fingers under the lip of the material to stretch it a bit worked perfectly. Do this for 45-60 seconds, then place one end in the groove and slowly push the material into the plastic groove from the inside of the ear pad. No additional tools are needed.

Having sold audio for 35+ years I have replaced many Sennheiser ear pads. These did provide a challenge. After almost 15 minutes I decided to go back and read some of the reviews and their instructions. My wife came in and I told her the bicycle tube comparison. In less than 30 seconds she had them on. Go figure.

Genuine replacement ear pads for Sennheiser PXC250 headphones. A lot of reviewers complain about how difficult it is to put them on. Following the suggestion of one reviewer I found the main trick is to (a) stretch out the tough leatherette ring with your fingers a bit, and then (b) turn the ring back on the pad, put against the surface, so the ring is inside-out. Then put the pad against the flat plastic bit of the headphone and turn the leatherette ring back the right way over the plastic.

My original ear pads and headband padding wore out and cracked/dry-rotted after about 6 years on a PXC 250. These are genuine Sennheiser pads and it was nice to find these... the exact ear pads as the originals. Give yourself 5-7 minutes to install the ear pads... as other reviewers mentioned the fit is tight and you have to carefully work the ear pad onto each ear phone, akin to putting a bicycle tire on a rim. It feels like you are going to tear the ear pad when working it onto the ear phone but they are surprisingly plenty tough enough. 5 stars. As for the headband: I carefully tore the cracking/worn out covering and just left the base head band padding in place. The reviews on the head band padding and replacement adhesive were mixed.

It fits perfectly.
