1/10 not bad to start with
Yeah the first book of ten, kinda cool, just bit like 'twilight ' except the vampires don't sparkle, yeahroy. Also it's ten year's before twilight

Perfect start
I started this series a couple of weeks ago and again I was really surprised on how goo it is. Beautiful and well written, love stories that get complicated because of the fact that the people in love belongs to the Night Word. You have to abide by their rules and falling in love with humans is number one on the 'messed up' scale! However, love always find a way to work and soften people involved! I hope the next instalments are as good as the first one! Be aware that this are short stories, the characters are connected but do not appear together in the same story.

Loved it!!
I'd read 'Secret Vampire' at least x5 times before I found this volume. The other books were just as good, I enjoyed the last book 'Enchantress' as we saw the Harman witches in more detail and had a better understanding of the different facets the characters have. I've loved reading these and look for to the rest of the series.

enjoyable read
I enjoyed the Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith, so I thought I'd give the Night World series a go. This book is divided into 3 separate stories that link characters but are in essence separate little books. If you dont mind short books, then I would recommend these. They are aimed at young adults (which I am not) however, are quite well written and easy to get into. If you like feel good vampire stories then try these, but remember the audience they are aimed at. Anyway, I've just ordered the next lot and am looking forward to getting stuck in. Good escapism fiction.

Excellent drama
I have read these books for over a decade and love them still. Great writing and excellent characterisation gets you hooked. This volume is a great introduction to the parallel night community and some key characters. This series has been underated and undermarketed. Its a shame that LJ Smith doesnt get credit for recreating the vampire genre decades before the 'Twilight' mush. It is clear that Stephany myers of twilight fame has plundered from the Nightworld series, but failing to create a decent story.

Very underwhelming.
I really enjoyed The Vampire Diaries so started this book with high expectations, but became very disappointed. I kept expecting for the plot to twist and turn into something more interesting, but it never did, it was really predictable. It may be that this is the foundation to the rest of the series, but I`m not sure I care about reading the rest.
